hello all,
happy to have found this forum...my husband and I are about to send out our PR application this month after what seems like ions of time amassing documents. i have a question that i am seeking help with:
my husband, an american, had visitor status (visitor record after receiving having received a visitor extension) which expired september 10th 2010. so presently he is out-of-status.
so we are requesting restoration...now do think we should should it bsend the restoration ap with the PR and OWP application..orshould it be sent separately? also, would it be wise to do an application for OWP and restoration of status on the same form; meaning to check to two separate boxes on the "application to change conditions, extend my stay or remain in canada"?
also, if i request to wait until AIP is granted before processing the restoration/OWP forms will we run into any problems as it will take many months and to get to AIP. i guess my more direct question is : once you apply for restoration of status within the 90 days , are you technically "covered"? or can they tell you to leave canada right away?
we are confused. and yes, scared.
please help.
thank you,
elise
