Hey all,
I just might have gotten my approval ;D ;D ;D ;D. My representative, Dad, told me he got a letter of approval for me. Living in China I haven't been able to talk to him but I'm hoping he's reading it correctly cause CIC received my application Nov 23. It seems I've gone way ahead of some of you who sent your application in before me.
If he's right here's to hoping China doesn't take too long (4-8 months according to their website)

I hear you... we heard from eCas that a decision has been made - that was 6th of December... postal system really SLOW to the southern hemisphere... well at least to this part, oh well!

Maybe it's like the watched pot analogy. If we look away a moment, we may give it that chance to do it's thing.

Luckiest Guy, does your father live in Ontario? If so, that would explain why he got a letter so quick, before others who have filed before you. My application was filed on 11/17, and I don't see anything on ecas and haven't received a letter as of today. But we live in Vancouver, so it'll take longer to get the letter as Canada Post doesn't seem very fast to me. From Ontario it'll probably at least take 4 days if not 5 and maybe longer with the holidays. Although still I worry that we haven't heard anything, esp. since we moved and so I'm not sure if they still used the old address. I'll have to check with our friend at the old address to see if he has a letter for us. I think I may call them tomorrow. Not sure if they'll be able to tell me anything, but at least I'll try (to give them the correct address and see if a letter was already sent out).

Wow. My eCas finally works and it says decision made. I thought I'd check it one more time before going to bed and I was shocked that I got something. It said the letter was mailed on Dec. 14, so I would expect it probably by next tuesday. Also, it has our current address, so I'm relieved about that too. No need to call them, and it seems they won't be sending back the application for something missing. Whew!

AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt – the first official document that says the application for permanent residence status has been received.
PPR – Passport request – Immigration requests passport when they are ready to issue the visa.
DM - Decision made (waiting on letter to confirm)

I hope we see a couple AOR's/In Progress before the end of the year! I have my fingers crossed!!

EDIT: Yeah, I'm making a pretty big assumption that it's an approval. If it were to be a denial, I'd think we'd have been contacted. As I mentioned in a previous post, CPC-M isn't really known to deny applications, as long as you meet the basic criteria. I'm still anxious for the official letter, however.

That is great news Pharoh. It will be positive news. You are following very similar timelines as to the rest of us that have been approved for sponsorship so I am sure yours will be as well. Now your wife can start stalking the postman like I did!! lol

Yeah, those of you who have received your letters, were they actually postmarked the same day as shown on eCas? I'm trying to guesstimate how long it will take to get from Mississauga to Edmonton. If it literally left the post office on December 13, I'd imagine it could be there as early as tomorrow. Did the date postmarked on your envelopes match up with when eCas said it was mailed?

My letter and e-CAS said I was accepted November 30th. The postmark says December 1st.

At least things are moving along a bit faster now. For a while there it felt like nothing was happening. Having said that, I've still not heard anything about my application yet. But the cic website says apps received on the 17th and mine was received on the 19th, so hopefully i'll hear something soon!

It *looks* like there's about 4 weeks between when you get approved by CIC-M, and when you receive an update on eCas for AOR and or In Process.

I'm not expecting any of us to see any changes till at least after new year's, but you never know.

The October thread is VERY quiet as well.
