Same for me. They received mine on November 8th and the letter was sent December 3rd.

Out of curiosity, how often do people get declined for this part? I can't see any reason why I would be, but I'm scared just the same.

Hello everyone,
I'm happy to see the good news.
@ Canadayogini--just to add that my application was sent on the 26th of november and it was received on the 29th. Thanks for the good work with the updates.

Congrats Getson.

I don't think it's very often. There's not a whole lot in the way you can get denied for by CIC-M. You can see the checklist in the sponsor app (it says something along the lines of "if you check 'Yes' to anything in the list, your application will be rejected".) In a nutshell, if you're not a PR or citizen, if you have any extensive criminal background, or if you're on welfare, you cannot sponsor, and thus, the sponsor application would be denied. If you don't fall into those categories, then you're all but guaranteed approved by CIC-M. Then the individual visa offices (e.g. Buffalo) do a through examination of the applicants (not sponsors).

That's what I assumed. Thanks a bunch.

As an aside, Cuz, clean out your inbox. It only holds two messages and you're full.

Thanks for the heads up!
Hopefully we'll both hear something soon.

Yay, congrats to those awaiting letter of decision. Great isn't it that CIC are punctual. Reminds me of another reason why Canada is such an awesome place to live!

Correction, CIC-Mississauga is punctual. All other CIC offices and services... not so much.

Hi canadayogini

I don't actually know if mine is an approval yet. All I know is that a decision was made and letter sent out on November 30th. I am hoping that I get an approval letter very soon so I can confirm that. You should be getting a letter soon too! I hear what you are saying with having trouble concentrating. This weekend was brutal knowing a letter is winging its way to me and I have to sit tight and wait!

Zahid, your waiting time depends on whether you are applying inland or outland. You application should have been sent to Mississauga if you are applying outside Canada and Vegreville if you are applying inside Canada, not Saskatchewan.

Sorry i didnt tell that my file was submitted by my Brother In Laws in Regina (Saskatchewan) and my actual file submission date is 17th Oct 2010. As per my bro in Laws that you will be receiving acknowledgment letter with in month.

It is official now, I finally got the letter today. I have been approved for sponsorship. Phew! Good luck to everyone else waiting. Now I wait for London visa office to get busy!!

Hurray Jen, celebrate stage one over!!! :D

congrats jen
iam happy 4 u

oh no! I realise I made a mistake with the police check... I've lived in UK & Australia so had to get the two and submitted both. The UK one didn't require fingerprints... so that one is fine. But the Australian one I also got without fingerprints (I did the name search only)... I somehow didn't see a huge webpage from CIC which gives instructions on how to obtain it with fingerprints and that the name search only wouldn't be accepted. I also didn't realise I have to submit an Australian driving history report! arhghghgh!

Since I'm the applicant I don't think this will affect the sponsorship decision.

I already emailed the CIC in Sydney asking them for what I should do and where I should get this stuff posted now, because I read that the AFP will take 30 days or so (and factor in time for Christmas breaks) to provide the check.

I can't believe I missed it, I think it's going to cost huge delays. :-(
