Wow the experience over at my border is so different. I literally did move all my stuff over three years ago, and though I got pulled over and talked to they let me through with all my stuff. Couches, bed, entertainment center...bags and bags of clothes. With no proof of ties to the states and a slap on the wrist. I have always received a good "talking to" and then allowed to do the undoable. They are lax here, compared to what all of you are going through. It makes me feel so bad for those of you still waiting to even see your spouses every day. I'll be thinking good thoughts for quick and positive letters for allsbwv09 said:Tuesday! Ecas update day!! I'll be checking after I get the paperwork out of the car.
I am officially a 'visitor' here in Toronto for the duration. I got here on Sunday. Hubby and I are going back for a couple of days in August for a medical test and to visit my family, but I'm here! I crossed alone, but didn't get any trouble. I'm a teacher so the summer break thing really helps.. she did take a good look in my car to make sure I wasn't 'moving in', as she put it. She also asked if I still had a job and place in the states, but didn't ask for proof (although I had it).
I'm a bit nervous about crossing back over in August but my hubby with be with me, and I can still use the 'summer' excuse. And I will have far fewer things to transport, so we won't look suspicious. I guess I'm 'bad' for saying I'm on summer break when I plan on staying longer.. but I'm just scared is all
YAY!!!!! Congrats! Now the real waiting begins eh? And the discrepancies in timelines! Some of us could be done by October, some next summer...eeek!heatherusa said:I started to get super frustrated with not knowing what was going on... Especially after the call last week, and of course seeing others in May get their letters, so I called the help line again and got a lady who told me that it was way too early for me to hear anything. I begged her to check anyway and I am so glad I did because she said that sponsorship was approved and the app forwarded to buffalo today. Yay. She wouldn't give me a case number (I think she was afraid I would bug buffalo the way I bugged her) and said I should get my letter soon.
I mean, I hear all the horror stories on here but I've never had a bit of trouble. I only got pulled over once, and it was a random Wednesday in Niagara Falls.. I honestly think they were bored and/or had a quota to fill because there was really nobody else there that day. Last summer I came over as his fiancee with a bunch of stuff and said I was going to stay for 3 months. The IO says "THREE MONTHS?!?...ok!" and lets me through, lol.Vervain said:Wow the experience over at my border is so different. I've had Border Guards not even LOOK UP from their newspaper, let alone check my passport more than once lolsbwv09 said:I mean, I hear all the horror stories on here but I've never had a bit of trouble. I am hoping for the timeline update soon also. What I really want is to have ecas work or have the letter in my hand... Then it will feel real.missmyhoney said:congrats heatherusa! am anxious to see updates in cic processing timeline today, hopefully :
Vervain said:Any May people In-Process on e-cas yet? My full name shows but that's it. Nothing clickable. I wonder if I'll get a new client ID. The one I'm using is the one off of my Visitor's Record.
