Seems to me like there is a left hand knowing about the right hand, kinda issue.

My application clearly took less than 30 weeks to appear on e-Cas and it has information that was clearly updated by someone in London about my "outside Canada" application.

I presume that e-Cas is used differently by different IOs (in different countries) and as such the information conveyed is less than helpful in a lot of cases - tending to promote more confusion than answer questions.

For instance mine has said "COMPLETE" (inferring I have landed) & then "DECISION MADE" for the last two weeks and I am yet to receive a PPR.

This is so odd! My guess is because it is now taking 4-5 weeks to send passports back the passport visa issuing people have told the immigration officers processing applications to hold off on the PPRs as they have a back log of passports to sort out. So the IOs may have looked at our applications and processed them but are waiting a few weeks to ask for passports.

I hope that's it shandymoo. At this rate, it's looking likely I'll miss a trip to Vegas and that I'll have to renew my visitor permit ($75 and hassle).

Hello,
I've just discovered this forum and thought I'd join. It's nice to know there's other people in the same position. I've had to start my job in Canada so I'm now here while my husband still awaits decisions abroad. Here's our stats for your table.
We've applied through the London office.
Our application was received at CIC on Jan 19
Sponsorship approved on Feb 9
Application received in London Feb 17... that's where we stand.
Good luck all!

Iam extremely confused. I sent an email to Buffalo about my permanent resident file status being not available on ecas. This is the response I got...

I am almost positive there is a thread for Buffalo applicants on the forum, and I believe that one of the guys in the Dec thread even created a spread sheet in google docs with all the application timeline info.

I completely agree that it is bizzare (alot of people get approved through buffalo in 4 months - which is way less then the 30 weeks) it may be worth checking out with others going through the same office, see what they have to say - as each of the visa offices seem to have their own system

On the bright side at least they emailed you back!

I suspect the "weeks" was a typo.

Buffalo is taking at least 30 days (alternatively, the e-mail author could have been thinking 4-6 weeks, as that seems more accurate) from when the sponsorship is approved to when AOR is sent.

It appears some are receiving an e-mail AOR, others, paper.

We *should* start seeing the January Buffaloians getting AOR in the next week or so.

Hey All,

So we just got an update - my partner's e-cas is now working! Yeahhh.

Although no new news on this missing police check (his e-case is just like mine and says 'in process') - not that I was expecting any news. However, this time we were smarter and had the police officer give my partner 'proof' that he had requested the check. My partner came home very excited that he was able to convince them to give him proof and proudly waived around...

wait for it...

a sticky note!

Yes our proof from the Israeli Police Department consists of a sticky note, with a handwritten memo saying he had requested the police check a second time, and after much cajoling from my partner they even agreed to but a dated stamp on it! Go figure!

And we wondered why the VO never received the first one...

PPR received from New Delhi :)

PPR dated 9th March 2011 and received by post on 24th March 2011. I shall send them the Passport by today itself.

@ AlieW
What "Identification Type" does your husband use? I'm wondering if I can use my wife's client id (that works for her) or if I should try with receipt number... ::)
Neither works so far for me, by the way...

@ abbuffon

We got a letter from our VO requesting the police check - so we used the Client ID from the letter he received and it works.

I (the sponsor) can sign in with our receipt number but he (the applicant) can't.

I will have to check the letter I received from mississauga with sponsorship approval and see if the client ID on it matches the one on the letter he recieved requesting additional docs. However if my memory serves me right we tried to sign him in with the client ID from my sponsoship letter and it didn't work.

Anyway - I will check when I get home and let you know if the clients IDs are the same or if mine is different from his

Hello,

I am from the December thread, and so far it looks like they are taking 2 months from sponsorship approval to AOR. There are people still waiting in our thread who had their file transfered January 18 to Buffalo and still haven't heard anything. No mail, No email, No e-cas update!
However, looking at the trend, and the way people before them have got their AOR's it looks like we should all be getting our AOR by the end of this month. That's when you guys should expect to start getting yours.
The people in February thread start to see an e-cas update of file being received in Buffalo, as they have started a new system now where I guess the file is scanned immediately they receive it. AOR would be probably the email to the Principal Applicant, followed by a letter in mail that has their client ID etc and the mail stickers in case any correspondence is needed.

One quick question, your thread has Eddy070 updated as AOR received?? Has he just got an e-cas update like the February thread people or has he really received the email/mail from Buffalo ??
Please let us know, as that would be something to worry about since there are about 4-5 people in December thread still waiting for their AOR.

:'( still $%&*ing waiting

I think he put that on here, then may have deleted the post later, he asked afterwards what AOR was, so maybe he was mistaken. I'll remove it later
