ah ok my wife too, so after approval we have to send a letter to Quebec and pay $250 CAD, right?

yes; sponsor need to fill/sign one form but two copies and you the sponsored have a form to fill and sign; the sponsor also send a copy of a proof of residency and a copy of the letter CIC sent to your wife and the nice little 250$

i am starting to wonder if it's not a Quebec conspiracy, seems a lot of people from Quebec have longer processed time

oh well let's be patient

Ah ok thanks for the info. yeah we have to be patient a little bit more maybe this week or the next we'll have the answer. I'll let you know if there are any news, take care...

I am thinking people going to Quebec have a delay of minimum 1-1.5 months... reason being as far as I can see it this..

Sending the documentation from CPC-M to Montreal after approval lets say 1 week
MICC to receive our documents requesting the CSQ and payment 1-2 weeks. I sent mine on April 5th from Sao Paulo (Correios Registered Letter/Envelope) and Canada posts website states it is currently at customs since April 9th.. and today we are the 12th, so thats 1 week.
Then the time for MICC to open the package, do their background checks etc etc, another couple of weeks atleast then sending the CSQ overseas... I would say a total of 3 before they send it to you... so in total would be 1-1.5 months.

That seem about right to everyone?

In the mean time, from what I have read, CIC in the country it is being processed in does not even do anything with your application until they receive the CSQ from Quebec/Montreal.. so right there the application is not being looked at, and then add the time that they open the package from MICC and append their paperwork...

I ask myself, why didnt I just apply in Ontario and then cross over to Quebec after landing with my wife I would save 350$ in my case, and speed up the process by 2 months easily.

Cheers

compuadnet well depend on everyone situation my point was about CIC-M being slow with Quebec cases

me, i will go or have someone go drop the MICC application at their office which will cut waiting time.

Of course the MICC process just makes us lose more time and money; all hail Quebec and our multiple parallel systems. Sorry had to complain about that :P

and i know after the last part of the process start only when Quebec send the okay... man this is discouraging when you start thinking on how long it will take

congratulations!!!! wonderful, good for you :) :)

compuadnet & Dralon

I dropped off our MICC forms on March 22, 2010 - 22 days ago - and no CSQ yet! They have charged the $250 about 2 weeks ago.......I live in Montreal and its taking longer than I thought that's forsure!

I also recommend that you fax or send a copy of your CSQ to the federal visa office because although MICC states they will forward a copy themselves, it does not always make it there! A friend of mine received her CSQ in November 2009 and just today Buffalo said the file is pending receipt of the CSQ and asked to send a copy of the CSQ if she already had it!!!!!

GL!

My application was received on February 23, 2010. They started processing on March 18. They mailed the ENTIRE application back to me the same day because of a missed signature and clarification was needed on one answer. I didn't receive my application back until today. Yes, it took almost 4 weeks by regular mail.

I'm mailing the application again today and hopefully, it won't take another month to hear back about my sponsorship approval.
:(

ouch that is a pretty sad situation... for 1 signature and some clarification they sure are evil to us :(

well at least you got news even though bad i am still worried they lost my case somehow

oh and fibud thank you for the information i will fax them

edit: What is depressing is the fact they updated the wait time and after a whole week they are still on Feb 11... man they are slow of what

yes Dralon I am totally agree with you, I am, really upset with the Cic, because they just updated the waiting time, and they are still on feb 11th ::) how is that possible, 2 weeks stucks on feb 11th

Ask them and like they said to your wife it's impossible they were 2 weeks on the same date lol i am almost starting to regret even more not to have moved to the US instead lol but i love my Canada

Hey compudnet
You should have found somewhere in Ontario to use an address for it would have been faster i think and i guess cheaper.I looked up the time lines for sao paulo and it says 4 months if all is well but i heard some have had it done in two months through Sao Paulo lets cross our fingers

I let you what they say Dralon, my wife gonna call tomorrow or this friday, to see what happen with them.

okay let me know how it goes; i still cannot log in e-cas today
