Hi Moonpie,
My husband has crossed the border several times since we started his application. He takes any evidence of the PR application with him everytime that he crosses. He has only once had a problem when he mentioned that he was unemployed. He was detained and questioned at that point. Otherwise, never had problems once we showed the documentation to support the PR app.

I received our CAIPS notes today which i had ordered early april, they are dated as of April 14th just before the file was transferred to NYC (April 19th)

Basically there is about nothing there...
All assessments show 'Not started' (all security etc...)
Things we are really worried about:
Medical status shows 'Not started' with a due date of March 14th 2012 !!!
Basically looks like they have not even requested the medicals to Ottawa. I had actually sent faxes (multiple) to Ottawa to make sure those medical results would have been sent to Buffalo....

Basically looks like we are in for a long long long ride....
During the past 5 week i guess the case has been put on 'idle' as our file has only been traveling between Buffalo and NYC.

Sometime i really believe that whenever a file requires a little be of work it is put in some sort of low priority mode...

Hi Romain !

I am really sorry to see this. What you are going through almost all of us going through it. So hang in there dear....On a good note though, I think Mar 14, 2012 is in reference to usually the date before which you would have to land in Canada, and I guess that's why they have it exactly as 1 year after your AOR. I am sure they will request your results much earlier than that. Buffalo has started to catch, and maybe all the offices respectively start to catch up !
Dont worry....we are there with you! Sending file to satellite offices has seen faster processing, so you should be hearing some progress from NY soon

Its been 160 days since my hubby was approved as sponsor!!!! I shouldn't have counted, this process is driving me to want a glass of wine :-X

I am not that lucky I guess What canadian ID did you provide? They ask at least one canadian ID which I don't have DDDDD

I keep hoping that any day will be the day. I am not sure I understand what is going on with buffalo as I feel that my application is very straight forward like I am sure many of the people here. Here is to hoping that this week will bring good results. ;D ,. I have to be in Toronto by the 2nd week of June for my anniversary with my wife. Last time I visited and left my son, he didn't leave my wife's side for a couple of days. Still I am fortunate to be able to see him every couple of months as some people don't have that opportunity. I also felt good that he upon hearing my voice today on the phone, my son tried to lick the phone. He is only one and half and non verbal, but very cute.

Come on buffalo. Let us get through the backlog with hopefully the december group. This past week, the star published this report about a guy who was separated from a long time from his spouse, and I am hoping that this press report lights a little fire under cic.

Hello Everyone,

Not been on in a while! Just a quick update really.

Got my PPR on 6/4/2011 sent my passport away on the 12/4/2011 (went on holiday so couldnt send it sooner!) and I recieved my passport back complete with Visa on the 18/05/2011 and have my flight booked for the 5/06/2011 so will be landing in a week and a half!

Please add to the spreadsheet!

Finally received my passport today with Visa! planning to land this saturday! Does anyone knows if immigration at the boarder would work on saturday? We plan to drive to Niagara Falls and do flagpoling to land but just wondering if it has to be work day, not weekend? ???

Rainbow Bridge in Niagara has Travellers only in the brackets. Any thoughts what does that mean?

It's most likely this. I do know it's the only crossing in WNY/S.Ontario that doesn't allow commercial vehicles. The view is much better than the Peace Bridge too... Rainbow goes right over the gorge, with a lovely view of the Falls ;D
(Why did I never become a tour guide? Haha!)

**Edited to add: Keep in mind, it's a holiday weekend in the States. Traffic in both directions on all the bridges will likely be heavy most of the weekend. Just be prepared for potential delays.
