well the email to Buffalo is away so hopefully we'll be able to get some sort of status update soon. *Crosses Fingers*

I just saw this info online 4. Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)
(Canadian dollars)
For the acquisition of permanent resident status $490

This fee is payable by principal applicants (with some exceptions) and accompanying spouses and common-law partners. It must be paid before the immigrant visa is issued overseas or before the applicant becomes a permanent resident in Canada.

The following applicants are not required to pay this fee:

dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, a child to be adopted, or an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild; and
protected persons, including Convention refugees.

my question is.. I am sponsoring my spouse and my dependent i know that we have to pay the RPRF for my spouse but does the above mean that there is no payment for my dependent child?
I look forward to your response

That's how I read it, have you paid your RPRF? If not pay it ASAP, as we forgot for some stupid reason at the beginning, have since paid it but it's held up our application for approx 2-3 months

I tried to pay it last week on-line from the States and got a failure notice although it was approved by the bank, but after reading this info I am wondering if I should only pay for my wife rather than my wife and my dependent child since I am the Sponsor I think I will at least pay my spouse fee today

Yeah do it as soon as you can, we are really p'd off we missed it at the beginning, we would have been through this process if we had gggrrrrr.

As for the fee, certainly check out if confirmed paid and email/fax this off ASAP too, you really dobt want the additional delays :-)

Sorry for posting across several threads everyone, but I am trying to fight off a full blown meltdown....

For folks who have gotten transferred from Buffalo to other offices: how long did it take for your file to officially arrive to the new office from Buffalo? Buffalo sent me the transfer email exactly a month ago today, but as of yesterday afternoon Detroit still does not have my application. At least according to their files. From reading previous posts around the board, things usually progress quickly after a transfer, and I'm starting to fear that my application is lost in the wind.

Thanks all.

Hi Karla718

I am in the same situation with the NY office except i do not even get answers to my emails/Case Specific enquiries.
Requested CAIPS notes on April 11th, expecting those next week or the next week. I can see it coming that i might be told those have not even been created... :(

That is terrible, Romain. I really hope you hear from them soon. I know they have a tough job and are working through a lot of paperwork, but I hope they also realize that these are people's lives with which they are dealing. It's so frustrating when they don't communicate.

so YAY! Husband got a response from Buffalo!!! (talk about quick!)

"Your application is in process. No further action is required by you at this time."

So I guess they're just not updating ecas (my husbands is still at application received) They didn't say when it started being processed but I'm content knowing that they are processing it.

So if you're application was in Buffalo on or before Jan 26th chances are you are in process as well :)

Was wondering if anyone could answer this: do PPR come via email or regular mail?

Often they come by e-mail. So keep an eye on the Applicants e-mail box, and junk mail box.

(And congrats, CandC - that's great news!)

Hi CandC2009

how did you communicate with Buffalo ? Did you send an email or went through the case specific enquirery web form ?
I tried both with no success. I tried again with the VO in NY where our file got transferred and that too did not work...

Thanks

We emailed buffalo through the Case Specific email address on the site. but if your File is with NY I would assume you would have to email them directly as they would have info on your file not Buffalo.
