@ pinklady Thanks for the clarification. We need to send the green form to Buffalo then to catch up with the rest of the package. If the form does not have a photo on it, I'm assuming I need to send one in myself...? There's a piece of sticky paper on it that I figured they were going to use to attach the photo, but it's empty. Hmmm.

I wouldnt like to say what to do about the photo. All I know is that when the DMP gave me the green form it had my photo on it and a stamp over that too. I was told to take photos with me to the medical appointment.
But yeah, the green form needs to go to Buffalo to join up with the rest of your docs.
I hope you figure out the photo situ....good luck!! :)

Just got back from the physical. Doctor told me he'd be sending the results to Ottawa by the end of the week barring any issues. However hubby told me that the letter he received stated I was supposed to send it myself...possibly? He has been really busy the past couple of weeks with his job, so I'm thinking he might have read it wrong, but I wanted to double check with the board on which procedure sounds right. Thoughts?

You should have gotten a receipt only with some info on it and a picture. At least thats what my husband gave to me. I sent this with my application, this receipt allows them to find your medical when it comes from the doctor.

Hi Everyone!

I received my letter today. I mailed our outland application on December 10th and they mailed the acceptance letter January 13th. Now I wonder what the next step is?? I wonder how long until permanant resident card is granted?

Does anyone know if it is possible to be granted a visitors visa to visit my husband while we wait?

Have a great day all! :-*

Next Step? Is to wait. It takes some time, they will receive your file at the VO and open and review it. They may then request extra documents, they may want to do an interview... or if you are lucky they will waive the interview. After all this is done, you will receive a passprt request. I think in Buffalo they are saying 80% of the cases were finalized by 11months. It appears to me this is moving much faster than that. But you will have some idea.

As far as the visa goes, you have a US passport, you are visa exempt. Normally, you should have no trouble crossing the border for a short trip. Just show proof you have ties to back home (ie- a job, a house, assets, family etc) They shouldn't have an issue, no guarantees but usually everything should run smoothly.

@ Vietcutie,

Great update to give a more realistic wait time to our thread members for Step 1 approval. Great job!!!

@ nylalisa, Thank you, I try my best to ease the people still waiting for a DM, by giving them a day to look forward to having a DM theirselves. Everything is in order and everyone has a DM according to recieved dates within 40 days but the average is 35 days.

@ everyone in our thread, wishing the remaining people that are waiting for a DM in our thread will get good news and within the 40 day period.

We received our approval letter in the post today. So we were indeed approved for sponsorship on the 11th of January. Roll on to the passports requests for all! Hopefully we'll all be approved swiftly!

This is hard enough without other people messing up on you, right? I called the doctor's office back, and they said they forgot to put the picture on my form. After a sidetrip to get yet another set of passport photos, I went to the FedEx and overnighted the form plus a cover letter. Yay! Please let that be the last thing!

@nylalisa thank you for the information!

@everyone slowly but surely we are all getting there! Chins up :)

Hey, I just saw the date you filed your application, the day before mine, so we should be on pretty much the same timeline since we're both going through the London VO too. I noticed someone who filed app on 10th Dec got their sponsorship approval letter today, we cant be far behind!
Good luck, I hope you hear something very soon!!

Now Im waiting for New Delhi VO to review my husband's file...Well, at least this is the last wait. Kids n i r going back to india on Feb 10th, for 5 mths to see hubby. Hoping VO will wrap up my husband's file before i return to canada in july. Wouldnt it be nice if VO issued his visa while im with him?!!!!!

Hope all who are still waiting - get their approval letters (stage 1) sooner rather than later! =)

By the way, on this forum, there are threads for specific VO - you guys may want to join these threads too.

As of January 19, 2011 -

Processing time : 43 days

(working on applications received on December 15, 2010)

Hmmmmm....I am almost there :( :) !!

ok so i called CIC and they told me that I should be receiving a letter from them within these days!!! I guess that means I'm approved!!! can't wait! they also gave me my client number to log into eCas, but it still doesn't work for me, but at least I got some news! I'll keep you guys updated!

Gary

@ garytheoiler, congrats on a DM, updated your DM on the table as DM recieved on the 19th of this month. Maybe you should try logging into ecas with your reciept # instead and see if that works.
