I keep watching and watching for this thread, but it hasn't popped up yet! So if I'm not the right person to start it, please feel free to delete this and start it again...

....but I'm sooo excited. :) We mailed in our application on Wednesday, December 1, 2010! Here's hoping that everything is right, and that it has a speedy trip through CIC.

Post here if you're also in the December group, and I'll keep track of how everyone's doing and update you weekly.

Hi quakingaspen...I am part of the November thread but I just wanted to post to say congratulations on sending in your application. I know the feeling of elation finally getting it sent off after all the hard work of putting it together. ;D Good luck in hearing positive news soon. I am sure the December thread will be busy soon...it took a while for November to get going too!

Thanks for the note! It's early in the month still, but I was so excited to have it in and taken care of that I just couldn't wait for someone else to start the topic. :) My husband and I have known each other for about three and a half years. We've been together for about two and a half... Married for just 3 months. I always dreaded the prospect of the legalities of our relationship. Now it feels like it just might be okay. :)

Good luck on your application as well! Hopefully this thread will give you a little more information about when to expect your good news.

Hi quakingaspen,

Hello from the November thread as well! We'll be keeping a close eye on this thread, just as we do for October. It's interesting to see how long it takes for people to get various approvals (from CPC-M and their respective visa offices). Congrats on getting your application mailed out, and if you have any questions, feel free to drop by our thread and say hello!

Good luck, I'm suppose to be mailing my application off soon (sometime this month). I have a question for you quakingaspen, are you from Utah? (I ask because of your avatar) If so how come you sent your application to Buffalo? i also ask because they told me due to my location I have to send my application to either LA or Seattle.

@ Pharoh - Nice to see you here as well! I was hoping to be a member of the November thread, but the last document we needed wasn't in agreement. But it's nice to be associating with you folks all the same. :)

@ Riyko - Yep! I am from Utah. I hope you'll get your application in this month and be able to join the thread! I actually didn't even think about which office to send my application to, so it's possible that I did it wrong. I've been living with my husband in Ontario for a little over a year now, and Buffalo just seemed to be the most logical choice. I did a quick Google search when I saw your question, and this is what I came up with: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp#u

I may be reading it wrong, but to me it indicates that people applying for Permanent Residence from the United States should apply to Buffalo (as it's the only office listed in that first column). Perhaps Buffalo sends it on to LA or Seattle? I'm not sure. I did select Seattle as the location for my interview, if I should need one. Where will you be moving to in Canada?

quakingaspen, I HOPE you sent your application to Mississauga, Ontario. They then forward it on to BUFFALO. Riyko, you need to do the same. ALL APPLICATIONS, REGARDLESS OF NATIONALITY, HAVE TO SEND THEIR APPLICATIONS TO CPC MISSISSAUGA. They are responsible for approving the sponsor, THEN, they forward the app to the local visa office (for the United States, it's Buffalo, NY). Yes, there are satellite offices (e.g. Seattle, L.A., Detroit, etc), but those offices are only use when Buffalo is overwhelmed, and they forward your application there (they'll notify you if you do).

Thanks for the clarification, Pharoh. I did mail it to Mississauga, Ontario. When it asked in the forms where my application would be processed, that's where I said Buffalo.

*phew*, I'm glad you sent it to the right place! I put down Detroit as my office of choice, but I doubt it'll get forwarded - most don't.

What part of utah if I may ask? (i'm from Layton) Ah I checked out the link thank you. I will also be living in Ontario, but I'll be in Toronto.

@Pharoh: I was planning on sending my forms there but thank you for post it again (me being brainless I would of sent it to the wrong place)

I'm from Ogden. Ontario is really a beaufitul place, and the Great Lakes are awesome... but I admit, I get terribly Utah-sick for the Mountains and the Red Rock. I'm learning a deeper appreciation for Lakes and Limestone, though!

If you like the mountains, move to Alberta. That's where I'm moving. Toronto is an awesome place, and parts of Ontario are hilly, and as a whole, very beautiful. If you venture west of Ontario, however, it's flat, just like the Midwestern United States. Alberta and B.C. have the Canadian Rockies, and I find myself speechless whenever I pass through them.

Hello everyone! We sent our inland application yesterday and will reach Vegreville on Monday (hopefully). Doing all the paper works almost made me crazy, and sending it is definitely a big relief. We just got married almost 2 months ago in Nova Scotia (where we met and where his descents were). We just moved here in Edmonton close to 3 weeks now.
I hope we all have a quick and successful response from the immigration! :)

Ah I love all of the old historical buildings in Odgen especially on 25th street. I know what you mean about getting Utah-sick for the Mountains, I studied in Oakville for 3 years (graduated part time so no Post Graduate Work Permit for me) and I always missed the mountains because Ontario is very flat in some places, but the nice thing about Ontario is you get to see all of the ships (barges) carrying iron ore year round.

I don't mean to be doom and gloom, but you know inland will take you well over a year or more to process, right? If at all possible, Outland is the way to go. You can't work in Canada with either (unless you get a work permit), however, you can stay with your spouse during the process (with outland you file an extension every few months - not likely to be denied). Your outland approval would be done anywhere from 1/4 to 1/3 the time.
