Hey sparkle, did you say CIC told you a decision was made on your sponsorship? That is great! Congrats! I sent my wife's app along with my sponsorship app on January 13th and I was just snooping the december board to see how Buffalo people were doing..lol..Again Congrats

Thank you...they said a letter has been sent with the decision. This most probably means that the sponsorship has been approved...I am just waiting for the letter in the mail The Application Processing time table on their website is somewhat accurate to get an idea of which week you should expect your letter to be received ! Good luck !

I received the letter yester telling the sponsorship has been approved and the file has been transferred to Buffalo. Waiting for the next step...

Hi there,

No news as yet, have been logging on to check ECAS regularly but nothing has appeared so far ???. Hopefully they're dealing with the Sponsorship application right now ! We're in Ontario next week so may call them from there if we've had no news.

Unbelievable...just logged on to ECAS seconds after my last post...DECISION MADE..and a letter sent on 24th January...lets hope its good news !!

grats derwig, now all that is left is gally, abisehiyo and vietcutieboy(me) that is waiting for 1st stage DM. Wish us luck. Good or bad I will let you guys know about my progress.

I called CIC again today and they said that they recieved the file on the 24th, but no further info yet. They said to wait a week or so more. But other peoples applications seems to be looked at and DM within a day or two. Don't know if mine has something wrong with it that it is taking longer them normal.

vietcutieboy, this may be a dumb question, but have you tried logging into ecas using your receipt number? Thats how I found out a decision had been made. Its RXXXXXXXX then your name, dob and country of birth. Worth trying again. Also, it was a friday (or thurs eve) when it updated, because i checked on the thursday and there was no result.

I just received the letter in mail stating that I have been approved as a sponsor and my husband's file has been transfered to Buffalo.

However, in the letter they have said that since I did not provide the following document, his application is incomplete -

- IMM5406, Additional Family information, sign and date section B

This was for the section about children, and we have no children we left this section blank. But I just realized we probably had to sign that as well. Now my question is, if I send this form to them right now to the Buffalo address, do I need to provide some kind of reference number ?? The letter states my client ID and an Kit ID #. I am wondering what should be the best way to send this ?

Congrats on first stage approval!
I would fill out the incomplete form then a cover sheet with the client and kit id on it, also your name and sponsors name etc and date it. Then just send it on to Buffalo.

My time line
-Able to Log into E-cas with receipt number and sponsor details Jan 24th
-Application received Dec 21st, 2010
-Decision made Jan 19th, 2011

I called CIC on Wednesday and they told me my file has been transferred to Sydney VO.
I'll truly believe it when I see it. Still have not received letter!!!!? ON to MB...how long does it take?

Glad to see most of Dec app have had their DM.

I got the letter in mail but still can't login to my E-cas !! So u can never be sure how and when you will be able to get the info !

Average days according to people in this thread for 1st stage DM is 34 days.
Inland applications takes 8-9 months for 1st stage DM.
Only 2 people left please keep us updated. Only me left without a DM
