Hey everyone! I mailed (more like my wife) my application in on August 19th. I read something about a two week trend...hope that's headed my way too. I'm guessing that this two week trend is once they receive our applications or open them or whatever...then it would take two weeks before we get sponsorship approval? Anyway could someone also tell me what eCAS, AOR, and CSQ is? I think CSQ is a quebec thing. My wife is from Montreal so we will have to go through their process as well.

Let me get you up to speed. The "two week trend" you've been reading is the "In Process" part of the application process which means nyssa's application is already being processed in Buffalo. If you've sent your application last August 19, you should be getting (or should have gotten) your Sponsorship Approval real soon. As for the acronyms -

eCAS - electronic (i think, not too sure about 'e') CLIENT APPLICATION STATUS
AOR - Acknowledgment of Receipt (this happens after your application has been received by your local Canadian Embassy)

And yes CSQ is a Quebec thing. I've read about this but am really not sure what it means. I think it's like Certificat des Selection du Quebec. I'm sure other members can shed some light to what CSQ means.

My wife and I are really enjoying following along with the progress of everyone's applications.

Also just a few words to maybe put some minds at ease about their sponsorship applications, I was approved to sponsor my wife while I have been living overseas for over 5 years, I have not had a job in over 2 years, and only submitted and option c from 2005 - no other financial info was supplied, but was approved straight away (thankfully), we were very nervous about this as my intention to return "proof" was also nothing substantial. I just hope to re-leave some stress from anyone still waiting that thinks they have a weak case.

Good morning everyone! Can someone give me an idea of how long it takes once sponsorship has been approved (mine was approved Sept. 13) for your PR application to make it to Buffalo or show up on e-CAS as "In Process" these days?

Medicals/Police Cert: July 14th
FBI Fingerprints Sent: July 21st
Application Sent: August 13th
Application Rec'd: August 16th
Sponsorship Appvd: September 13th
FBI Clearance Rec'd: September 21st

I didn't know if, as I have never lived in the US, Buffalo would require FBI Clearance from me or not (someone else in Bermuda was told they needed it so now their application is delayed) but I went ahead and got it just in case.

Oh, where do I find the list of August applicants and their timelines?

So my husband works nights and he stayed up late this morning because he's been engulfed in the game Civ 5 (which just came out yesterday). Thankfully he was up this morning or I wouldn't have known until tonight. He just got the email from Buffalo saying his application has been received:

Dear Applicant:
This is to advise you that your application for permanent residence has been received at the Regional Programme Centre (RPC) and that a file has been created for you. Your file number appears above. Quote this number when corresponding with our office.
Click here for additional information.

And he ALMOST deleted the email. He thought it was spam at first but thought twice when he noticed they used his middle name.

We made sure to put his email address on the application form (box 17 on form IMM 0008 for the applicant). There was this link in the email: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/assessment_evaluation.aspx

So yeah I guess that is the AOR

Now for the next stage of waiting.

Jeans22, Thanks for the info and the welcome! I have another question now...how do I know when they received the application? I sent it through the United States Postal Service, and was able to track it to New York on the 26th, but after that the USPS doesn't track international mail once it leaves the country as I understand it. (It was mailed on the 19th)

If you didn't mail the application out with some form of delivery confirmation, then you won't know exactly when it was received. Best I can recommend is a couple days after you mailed... then wait about 4 weeks after that and then start checking ecas regularly.
