Can you guys give me clarification on the FBI criminal check and when they consider it to be expired? Does it have to be current within three months of when you send in your application to Mississauga or when it arrives in Buffalo? If it is Buffalo I'm pretty sure my hubby's is going to be expired by then. Now I'm wondering if we should be sending for another one right now and sending it in to Buffalo once we get the AOR from them?

It's 3 months from mailing the application. If it weren't, a whole lot more FBI certificates would be expired! Good question, though. If you're worried, send out for another set of prints regardless. Buffalo's been losing things lately, so it wouldn't hurt to have that peace of mind. Don't mail it unless they ask for it, but if they do ask for it, you'll be prepared!

its valid up to 90 days from date of issue til it gets in the hands of CIC, not buffalo.

Perfect - No kidding. I'm also a part of the July thread and so far, everyone's been recieving their approval within a couple days from CIC receiving the application which is fantastic news. Given that apparent statistic, I'm looking at 7-10 days myself and then we can start seeing some progress here. I can't wait for everyone to post their super-happy news!!

What's this? Sponsor approval is only taking a couple of days? That can't be right... I am not understanding.

Ahahahah, thanks for catching my typo!! What I meant to say was a month and a couple days (roughly 35-ish days total). Wouldn't that be amazing in a perfect world!!

Hello all

Just got the word now that my letter got sent Aug 24th (application was received on July 26) which means processing in under a month now!

Hope this means it goes faster for all the August lot!

Yeah I've been watching the July thread like crazy. I'm flying down to see my hubby on Sept 2, back on the 7th so I'm hoping to see it update for me shortly after that.
