No worries, It's really easy.
Just inform the U.S border officer that you need to flagpole for Canadian PR and they'll wave you over to the office. Wait in the car and a officer will give you a piece of paper stating your flag poling and will escort you to a side gate. Drive through to the Toll and pay your $3 and go to the Canadian Toll. Hand them your passports and the piece of paper the U.S officer gave you and tell them you've just flagpoled and want to land as a PR. He'll ask you a few questions like any Immigration officer would (excess cash, stuff bought in the U.S) and then they'll tell you to park up over at the office. Walk in and tell the officers there that your'e here to land as a PR, hand over your passports and COPR and sit and wait. They'll call you over and ask a few questions that are on the COPR to confirm. Sit and wait a little bit. Then sign and initial a few things and then they'll staple it to your passport and welcome you as a PR! Your PR card will be mailed to you in 4-6 weeks. Don't need to apply for that, it automatically goes in.
Everybody was very friendly and it was a breeze. Thought it was going to be a *censored word*show but it wasn't.
Thanks for the detailed information. I appreciate that. Not long now. I'm so nervous lol
Going back to the PPR request though when it says 2 envelopes is one to send it and one with my address or am I buying 3 envelopes and putting 2 inside the other one? I feel stupid asking this but when I read what you did it looks like you put only one envelope in another.

Don't feel stupid, they really word a lot of things badly in a lot of the Immigration Applications and questions.
What they should say is buy 2 envelopes and put one inside with your name and address on it, along with your paperwork and photos.

Thank you so much for the clarification! Last night I was thinking why do they need 2 prepaid envelopes for because I was going to buy 3 today. But now I know I only need 2 thanks so much. I do find the wording confusing but this makes sense :)

No worries at all :)

I've just been in this situation and it only took 1 week from when I sent it to receive my COPR from Ottawa.
You just put your photocopies of your passport pages, updated information of just you and the 2 x photos in 1 of the envelopes and then fold the remaining envelope (addressed to yourself) and put it in.
Congrats on the news!
I went to Rainbow Bridge at Niagara Falls for a flag poling and it was easy breezy.

I'm guessing the case may be different (if your VO is Sydney and you later go to Canada and submit your PPR to Ottawa) than if you had your VO being Mississauga. It's been exactly 8 days for me and still nothing yet.

I'm not sure what you mean? I'm going by yokies and myself already living in Ontario.
If it's you sending it from Australia then, yes, it would take longer.

If it's comparing Mississauga to Sydney for receiving your COPR then it wouldn't make a difference. The decision would be made and it's up to Ottawa to hand out the COPR. My PPR came from Sydney via email so I think half of mine was done in Mississauga then 1/2 Sydney.

It's only 1 day more than when I got mine so I wouldn't sweat too much!

Hey guys,

My sponsor has a very small business which has barely operated in the last 12months.. My question is, should I be including this on the application when it asks about employment? She doesn't need to pass the income test and everything else is ready to go.. just tying up the last bits and pieces and tossing and turning on this last point.

Any help would be great!

We had the same situation, I just ignored business. As long as there is other income it's fine.

Just got email from Sydney saying they have received passport page scans and appendix b but this was also in there:

"We are unable to finalise your application until we receive confirmation of payment of the Right of Permanent Residence fee to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga."

I paid it 6th of Nov and sent receipt to Mississauga. Must of gotten lost in the mail. stupid Canada post.
I and replied with scan of receipt. Was i supposed to include that with the information sent to Sydney?, i thought not as it asks for the Sponsor to pay for it.

Oh well. More time wasted.

I've noticed that other people seem to be getting PPR not long before the visa gets issued. I got PPR email on the same day we got SA email, which was 2 days after receiving AOR email. Although the PPR letter was issued from the Sydney visa office, the email the letter was attached to came from CPC Mississauga. I'm grateful that my application seems to be moving relatively quickly, and I'm hopeful this means that I don't have to wait out the 11-month processing time for Sydney.

11 months is the absolute maximum, most are around the 5-6 month time.
So you got PPR 2 days after SA???? That must be some kind of record?? Are you sure you got that right?!
PPR is the final submission of Passport/photocopies of passport pages, 2 x immigration photos and the updated information chart.
Then 1-4 weeks later you'll get COPR.

ellybec's application was kept in Mississauga for stage 2 and recently they have been processing both sponsor and applicant forms at the same time. There has been other cases of this, even one where the applicant received sponsor approval and PPR on the same day.

I got PPR on the same day as SA. We received AOR two days prior. The PPR letter requested two photos, an updated information chart (appendix b) and photocopies of all pages of my passport. I mailed that off earlier this week to CIC Ottawa.

I got a letter in the mail today from CIC Vancouver requesting an interview next week. It says:

"You have been scheduled to appear for an interview and to receive your Confirmation of Permanent Resident Document at our office..."

It says to bring my passport, two photos, proof of payment for the right of permanent residence fee, current work permit, and my common-law partner. By the time we do the interview, our application will be at approximately 70 days since it was first received by CIC.

The interview request letter is dated December 8, which means it was mailed to me the same day I mailed off my PPR documents to CIC Ottawa. The interview is being held in CIC's offices in Vancouver (where I live), which is a relief because I was worried that I would have to fly to Sydney to do it. I'm not sure where I'm at in terms of the PR timeline.

Wow! That's awesome, congratulations! That's crazy quick!

My COPR is in transit according to my self-addressed Xpresspost tracking number (ETA 1 day)

:o

... will let you all know what it says when I get it.

8)

It would be about 16 days (19 days if COPR comes Monday) since my PPR stuff was received in Ottawa.

That's great news! I'm hoping mine will come before Christmas.
