Hello!

I'm being sponsored through my common law partner who's a Canadian PR.
We've lived together for 3 years, here in Australia and Canada.
She is with me at the moment in Australia, but still has an address in Canada.

I lived in NSW/WA and QLD (less than 6 months there), do I need the police Clearance?
I lived in Alberta 8 months, do I need one for Canada?
And I'm from NZ and lived there most of my life, is the police clearance from NZ required as well or do I just need to give them permission to access the file?

My fiancee is planning on going back to Canada this year. Would it be a problem if we sent the application while she was not in Canada yet?

You need a Police clearance from each country you have lived in CIC will do the Canadian police check tho.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/australia.asp because you were in QLD you might need a traffic report as well.. that is if you were 18 and over while there.

and also http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/new-zealand.asp (looks like they don't need a police check from NZ)

I am not 100% sure but I would include it in the initial package rather than be asked for it at a later date.

where are these spreadsheets everybody talks about? I just want to look up average processing times for people applying as an australian citizen through sydney outland

I couldn't find spreadsheets dedicated to Sydney, i had to go through the month by month outland threads and have a look there. Some spread sheets are better than others.
Recently, based on info in this thread, it appears to be about 3 - 4 weeks to transfer file to Sydney and to receive AOR2, then about 2 - 3 month until all completed.
This could change suddenly as the stage 1 processing time shot up from 28 days to about 51 for mine so there might be a large amount of applications heading down under. My application only got sent to Sydney 3 days ago.

I am in the same boat. Trying to source answers and I'm not having much luck. I do think you should feel lucky though. My application has been sitting in Mississauga a month now and they are only working on app recieved apr 4th at this stage. I calculated 100+ days till they will even get to my app to go to aor! You might be able to help me? Does it seem this daunting, then you recieve aor out of nowhere? Or is what's notified generally the rule?

Well I would put it this way... Do they know you stayed there? If you held a QLD address they know about, or a QLD license then YES, but I may have avoided it by simply not mentioning it

Again looking at the calculations. Under the revised processing times for the sponsorship application in Mississauga. I'm calculating that my application that arrived by registered post on May 12th will not even be opened until some time mid September which is a near 5 months just to get to that stage and it just keeps going up and getting further behind. Is this usual for them?

What is a National Identity Document? Not sure what to fill in for that section.

And what immigration office do I request to process the application? (IMM0008 Question 4) I'm living in Canada but applying Outland as an australian citizen. I think I put down sydney although mail it to Mississauga?

Some countries have passport-like documents for within the country. Australia doesn't have one and your AU passport ID number will suffice for that section of the form.

Put the Sydney Visa Office and mail it to Mississauga and make sure to use your Canadian postal address.
