Spoke too soon. PPR today 8)

Those who submitted by email, how did you go about this? The attachment I received does not list email as an option.

I just replied to the email they sent to me.

Colour scanned the page with my pic and info on it then (badly) black and white scanned every other page. created a 30 page or so PDF (under 3MB) Wasn't a problem at all. The only reason you couldn't email it is if they request passport photos again, in which case you would have to mail or courier it.

Took about ten days for them to send me the COPR email from then!

Hi All,

Just to clarify - do you send the actual passport to Sydney, or just the photocopy and attachment 'B'? I don't want to do the wrong thing...and while it seems via the instructions it's just the photocopy, I don't understand - does the visa actually go into the passport? If you don't send your passport to Sydney, do you put the visa in your passport yourself when the documents are returned, or is the COPR a separate document to your passport altogether? Apologies if this is a stupid question, but we've come so far that to make a mistake at this last stage would be extremely frustrating! Any info is much appreciated. Thanks and congrats to all who received this final stage recently!

Only a photocopy/scan of every page of your passport. I would assume they do something with these pages, send them back and when you land, that is when the proper visa is placed into your passport. When you get PPR a form will be attached which explains in detail what you need to do.

Congrats matthew_fitzy!! Thanks to both of you for the postings... it helps the rest of us have an idea of what to expect. Really appreciate all the posts on here!
Cheers!

Oh BTW guys

you can email the passports as a PDF scan. It will likely take you awhile to zip the file (reduce it) and then send. Also Appendix B can be scanned and then emailed. I also asked the visa officer to send an email verifying that the emails were received and that they were able to open them. Which the VO did (nice of him/her).

A little uneasy as I haven't received a verification reply after asking for one, but then I guess it depends who processes the request...

Thank you very much for the response! :)

Hello Canstralia,
I can't believe its taken that long for you guys. Makes me both sad and angry. I thought spousal visas are on a priority list for immigration department. How can they let a wife and husband stay so far away from each other for that long >:(
My file is a bit complicated too. I was sponsored by my ex spouse to come to Canada. I've heard that previosuly divorce cases takes longer than usual :-(
The first stage approval didn't take too long but I guess it's the second stage approval from Sydney that takes most time. I will keep you in my prayers. Distance is hard on a relationship.Hang in there :)

I really hope and pray that I don't have to wait that long. Both my spouse and are employed full time so taking time off work to visit each other is very difficult. Can you not contact your local MP? I am sure if the time taken to process your application is well above the mentioned times by CIC, your MP can ask for clarifications

Sent off for our UK police check. Our e-cas status is now "in progress" as of march 25. I have updated the spreadsheet.

Great to hear there's progress BCRain (even if it's annoying progress). Looks like I'm the last one standing for the August 2012 applications :(

Now that I've calmed down somewhat lol... :D

Can you print out, fill out and scan Appendix B and e-mail it with the passport pages, or does it have to be physically mailed?

Congratulations chipits! That's great news.

Robhi, I'm sure your application will be in process very soon.

Myself and a few others have scanned and emailed both the passport and appendix B. We have also tried to keep it roughly under 3mb. All pages were done in black and at a lower DPI apart from the photo page which was done in colour and of good quality.

I am curious to know, does COPR come by email?

Excellent, thanks so much!!

I BELIEVE (but obviously haven't gone through it yet) that the COPR comes by mail, I remember a few people in this thread talking about it arriving through the post.

edit: one more question as well, do I include my info (being the wife/sponsor) on Appendix B? I would lean towards no, since it says to just do it for those who are part of your application, but I just want to be sure.
