I recieved my stage 1 approval, and the had a question regarding the second paragraph. It started with the following:

"Effective May 1, 2003, all applicants....." just summarizing it said that the country of nationality or applicant lawfully admitted, or habtitual residents......and the the visa office has ultimate authority to transfer the file to another visa office is required....

did anyone else get this paragraph or is this standard for everyone. the reason i ask is because my spouses UK visa expires Oct 27, 2010, wondering if they letting me know or everyone gets this paragraph....

Thanks

taha

The post office lost my husband's application so we have not known since October 27th if the application was lost! It has been a very emotional time thinking of having to put together another package. But we got the news today on ecas that they received the application on the 27th and made a decision on Nov the 12th about my sponsorship application on the 12th.

Just a quick question, What is first stage approval? Is that sponsorship or something else. What will the next update be after Singapore receives his application and begins to process it?

First stage approval is when the the sponsor has been approved to sponsor the applicant.

not sure what they look at whether there background check of the sponsor, but they do look to see if the sponsor is on social assistance....

in general the next step is that the application will be sent to the the visa office that is processing ur application....

not sure what happens at ur visa office...

Sent application package on 2009/10/28
Received at CHC, M 2009/10/29

But still there is nothing on the ecase ??

check back on tuesday, hopefully something will be posted.....

When the file gets transferred to the visa office abroad, does the status change?

or is the same as the following...

We received your application to sponsor xxxxxxxx on October 23, 2009.

We started processing your application on November 9, 2009.

We sent you a letter on November 9, 2009 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

So the post office never "lost" the application then, they perhaps just lost track of it through the tracking system? Great news! I cant even imagine being faced with the task of redoing it...

have a good luck!

I managed to log on to eCAS for the first time today and a decision has been made!
I hope it's a good decision, but I can't see why not.

Question: I have two middle name and the last one is truncated. Will that be a problem?

Will eCAS tell me when it arrives in London? If yes, should I use the Case Specific Enquiry service?

it should tell you when your local visa office begins processing it...

yes, the only way you can see that they received it when your status be changed into In Process.

yes, you can use case specific inquiry - it will save you money for postage.
