The CPC-M called my sponsor today at 7am, asking her questions about her employment status and her education, seemingly for verification purposes, after which they asked if she was sponsoring me or not, so it seems they've opened my file.

Mine too! But as I'm the sponsor I think it's less important. I'm so excited that this phase of the process is so quick. Now holding my breath that the decision was positive and Berlin will be as efficient...
