I'm bringing the people who have PPRs to the bottom, bunched together to make it easier to distinguish their timelines.

UPDATE

AOR RECEIVED ON SEP 30 AND PASSPORT SENT ON OCT1ST

THANX

Well after my false-PPR, I send my FBI Clearance to the New York Consulate. ECas also says that Medicals were received, so now they have everything and there is nothing to do but wait now...

Just sent off my FBI clearance to be attached to our file in Vegreville.
I listed everything I could think of on the cover letter so that they could attach it easily.
Hopefully they don't lose them there as frequently as Buffalo seems to.

I sent it Xpresspost with tracking and signature so in a couple of days I should be able to tell if it got there safely.
Sorry I don't have more of an update but figured I would let you in on some extra bits. Also wanted to bump up the thread as well. :P

This is my first post but I have been reading this forum for ages for help with the application and then to follow along with everyone as they waited for news - We submitted our application in July too. We got our PPR today and thought I'd share our timeline for others in a similar situation. I know it doesn't change the time for each individual application but reading about everyone else somehow gives you hope - at least it did for me.

We sent our application July 14 and it was received in Mississauga July 15. They approved my sponsorship Aug 18 and we got the letter Aug 20. London started processing the application Sept 7 and we got the email today, Oct 6, for a passport request! We never thought it would be so fast. Our application was for common-law, we met 3.5 yrs ago and lived together in England (i have citizenship) for 2 years and then travelled for 6 months together. We sent 40 photographs, screenshots of emails, rental agreements, joint bank statements, copies of flights and travel visas/stamps, a few cards and letters from us both and family. It was a pretty small application (compared to some photos i saw on another post!) and it (just) fit in an Canada post Express envelope.

Good luck to all of you who are waiting. I wish you all speedy replies and I'd like to thank you so much for all of your info in the past few months and your support. Knowing that we are all going through it together makes it alot easier.

Update for this thread (already posted on Buffalo specific thread):

I got a request for my passport by email today! So happy! :)

My ecas status is still In Process, but I assume since they are requesting my passport that they have approved my application?

That is phenomenally fast... Congrats... I think London processes very quickly!

Wow London seems to be progressing very fast. Good on ya Torontogirl.

(This is a cross post with the Buffalo thread)

My hubby has officially landed...YAY!

We got to the HSBC building around 7:15am. We were directed to wait at the main entrance until 7:30am and a guard came by to bring us to the main lobby check in desk. We got number 2 & 3 (even though we were first). We were then told to take the elevator to the 30th floor (the elevator button even had a maple leaf as the button, lol!)

We got there and went into talk with someone, give them his passport and then told to wait about an hour for our number to be called. We waited...and waited....and waited....then around 9:30am we got called up and they handed my hubby his passport and landing documents.

We then drove to the Peace Bridge. Told the guard we were landing, he gave us a little slip of paper and told us to park and go inside. Luckily it was not busy there and we walked right up to an IO and he scribbled on the pretty sticker, asked a few mundane questions, then told him his rights as a PR, asked if he had goods to follow. Then we left.

We were officially on the road back home by 10:30am.

Smiley

Then we decided to stop off half way home in St Catherines to get some of the documentation stuff out of the way....that was not fun. First place we went to, according to the website he could apply for his new license and OHIP. Well we went to go do his license and nope, he needs to go to a Drive Test testing facility to do this....seriously?!?!?! I do not recall reading this anywhere online. And of course once we drive all the way there we find out since he is from New York state, one of the few states they CANNOT look up in the computer and he needs to order his driver record....ugh...so that was a waste of time. We go to do his OHIP....Again, denied. We had a utility bill, but it was not good enough for them, they want water/gas/phone as a proof of address is a license is not available....we brought internet/vonage....ARGH!!!!!!!!!

We at least we did not have any issues with his SIN....he can work!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL!

But overall, not a bad experience, glad we got to Buffalo as early as we did, there were NO seats by 8:30-9ish and it was sooo stuffy and warm.

I got my PPR on October 6!!! Very fast for Buffalo!!! :D SO EXCITED!

Nyssa - that's AMAZING! You started the August thread and now you are ahead of the rest of us! congrats.

Congrats Nyssa!

Thank you so much, I think I'll be in shock all the way until I land!!!
