yup - ours expires in mid-October, and I am so hopeful that with the recent speed in B'lo that I will be able to get it to them on time. I'm pretty sure that as long as they receive it before it expires, it's a-ok. after all, if we had sent it with the application originally, it would likely already be expired (or be expiring sooner) and would be alright...

@ minna -right, that was my thinking too.

@ waitingintz - lol, I get the relationship stuff. My husband was fretting over everything yesterday when the AOR came in. He's like "so there's this, this that and this, right?" I sent way more than I'm sure they needed but I rather have more than them request more.

Sorry if this has been asked, but in the letter that my wife received from the embassy in Guatemala to tell her that the process has started - it mentions that IF they are to request anything from here, it will be done within four months.

I was surprised that they put a date like that, does that mean that they most likely ask for her passport at the 4-month mark should they not ask for any other support docs or an interview?
Does anyone else have a statment similar to this?

Thx

Mine doesn't indicate a length of time.
It says: Your file has been placed in queue awaiting assessment. All applications are processed according to the date on which they are received. Once your file has been assessed, you will receive additional information and instructions.

Your application may be transferred to one of our partner offices ... and lists them. If transferred you will be notified, and all future correspondence should be sent there.

It did say (not that your asking) but that if you need to change any personal data (name, date of birth, nationality) OR YOUR ADDRESS, do not use E-Cas because it won't be downloaded.

HTH!

Hi July applicants. I hope that all of your applications are running smoothly and quickly. I just wanted to stop by and make a suggestion.

If you have not done so already, I highly recommend that you pay the Right of Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF) before you get the letter saying to pay it at the end of the process. It may save you a lot of time. It “seems” that people that pay upfront (before it is requested) get processed a few week ahead and if your anything like me a few weeks longer of waiting is very uncomfortable to say the least.

I’ve put together some info from CIC and this forum to help you. It can’t really hurt because they will refund this fee if your application is rejected or if you decide not to land.

Hope it helps. If you have more to add, please let me know and I'll put it all together to help out the next person who has questions about it.

The info is on this thread:

I received my AOR today :) I already knew I was in process since I checked e-cas but it's nice to have the physical paper and barcodes in hand :)

I can't remember if our fingerprints are good for 3 months or 6 months?

The police certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your application.

Fingerprints, the FBI certifies them for 3 months.

Thanks. The one I submitted with the app was within the guidelines but I'm pretty sure that they are going to be expired by the time anyone actually looks at them :( I went and got fingerprinted yesterday and plan on mailing it out to the FBI in the next day or two.

I understand why it has to be a current police report but by the time the application reaches Buffalo almost everyone is bound to be expired :(

Urgh, our application seems to have stalled! We had our letter from CPC-M saying our file was transferred to London on the 18th Aug.

We are still not in process yet. I wouldn't have worried normally, but EVERY other applicant through London in the past that we can see on this forum has got their 'In process' update within 2 weeks :(

Should we be worried yet?

May I ask you about CPC-M's letter??? Just wondering after you got the sponser approved letter from CIC in Mississauga (then they transfered your application to the visa office) after that letter they will sent you another letter as you says "We had our letter from CPC-M saying our file was transferred to London on the 18th Aug."
because I didn't get my first letter from CIC that they say our sponser approved yet. :( I want to get some letter from them :(

The only letter we have had was from Mississauga stating that sponsorship had been approved and the file was transferred to London. It contained our (my) applicant's I.D and kit I.D and the usual generic facts about the obligations of the sponsor.

Other than that one letter, we now have no news, and are still as of yet not in process...

I believe we won't get another letter either as the visa office in London doesn't send an AOR..

Thanks for your reply .... CIC send me the wrong address ..I didn't get my letter yet.. :(

If London doesn't send an AOR, then totally do not worry. IOs in visa offices outside canada are not required to update e-CAS. I'm sure I remember people not hearing anything at all after sponsorship approval until they received a PPR.

I know it's hard to 'trust the system' when we know that the system is flawed and has made mistakes, but you don't really have any options, and I would be more concerned about your health and well-being if you spent so much time worrying while your application is in process....you know wht I mean??
