Thank you for that link.

Im just curious as to how long it usually takes from the time the embassy asks for your passport and the time they give it back to you? would you know that?

thanks in advance
I believe it varies from office to office. You might get some idea in that thread as they are all from Manila office.

hi. I'm still waiting for AOR. Since I got an e-mail from Buffalo that says my applications were transfered to Japan, I still can't login ecas with my sponsor's client id and with my client id, there's nothing showed up other than my name. That makes me soooo nerves. I don't know where my application is and what's going on with it. I finally called cic yesterday and the guy told me Japan office use different client id so they will give me new id later.... I've never heard such a story ??? Should I just wait until I'll hear anything from japan or should I fax to japan office? ugggg, I hate my situation so much!

Hi June applicants. I hope that all of your applications are running smoothly and quickly. I just wanted to stop by and make a suggestion.

If you have not done so already, I highly recommend that you pay the Right of Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF) before you get the letter saying to pay it at the end of the process. It may save you a lot of time. It “seems” that people that pay upfront (before it is requested) get processed a few week ahead and if your anything like me a few weeks longer of waiting is very uncomfortable to say the least.

I’ve put together some info from CIC and this forum to help you. It can’t really hurt because they will refund this fee if your application is rejected or if you decide not to land.

Hope it helps. If you have more to add, please let me know and I'll put it all together to help out the next person who has questions about it.

The info is on this thread:

Hi June thread--I'm not sure if this is a first on the June thread; I think it is for an American. This is the notice I received from Detroit where my file was transferred last week: "Your application for permanent residence in Canada appears to be ready for visa issuance."

Is that not the best news possible? Okay, below is our timeline:
Met online: June 30, 2009
Met in person: January 10, 2010
Married on: March 06, 2010
Application filed in Mississauga: June 2, 2010
Sponsorship approved: July 5, 2010
In process in Buffalo: August 20, 2010
File transferred to Detroit: August 31, 2010
AOR letter received: September 3, 2010
Request for Passport: September 9, 2010

Just to give you a little more background for the endless is more or less information better when mailing the application. Our application was 3.5 pounds. It included every email we ever sent, phone bill records documenting our 1200+ hours of phone calls, pictures of our dating and our wedding, every card, airline ticket stub, receipt you-name-it to document our brief relationship. And, then a very detailed explanation of our relationship and why we felt comfortable in it moving along so fast.

I'm American; he's Canadian. We are both 52. I was a widow and had been married 26 years. He had never been married. We both lived in our respective towns for approximately 30 years, very stable, owned our own homes, bank accounts, no criminal records, neither of us had children, paid all of our application fees way back in March before we even filed, so we could show it at the border when we crossed in April together and got my visitor record. My file was mailed in four clear folders, every document was binder clipped together and I had both our names on every document in the folders.

Hope this information helps others! Stay positive June thread and the best of luck to all of you!

We were informed by an email from Detroit. I was so shocked I could hardly believe it. I know statistically that some Americans had to get approved in a brief time frame, and I kept visualizing that it would be us, but I still was caught off guard.

Looks like Buffalo is finally moving, or, actually, Detroit is! So, if your file gets transferred to Detroit; that may be a very good thing!
