(Thanks for the amazing job with the table btw! It's so cool to see how everyone is doing!)

Cheers all ;D

its startin to get depressing reading this thread. As i have had no response from the Trinidad Canadian Embassy.

OMG!!! I got an AOR!!! (well I think this is it)

I just checked the snail mail and there was a big white envelope with Buffalo file number stickers inside along with the "generic" photo copies of instructions. They also returned our original marriage license. I still cannot login to E-cas for Buffalo and have not received anything from E-cas tracker either.

Odd thing is that they did not ask me to send the FBI certificate..well, regardless I will sending it with the bar-code sticker ASAP..darn Monday is holiday!!

Sounds like AOR to me, you will probably get another letter/email asking for your FBI Certificate..they dont need it until they have assessed your relationship and admissibility to Canada..then they look at your medical and do a criminality check...I would recommend you send it now though :D
Congrats

Congratulations!!!! See I thought you were gonna be next. Funny thing is we got e-cas update but no AOR yet....in a meanwhile, you got no e-cas update but an AOR. Hmmmmm.....Where are you located?

Ok, I take it back.....my husband just called and told me that he rec'd the AOR, bunched of bar codes and his birth certificate. YAY!

AOR is acknowledgement of receipt...most High Commissions send a letter with bar codes to confirm that your case is "In Process" in the Visa office that is responsible for your country of Birth/Citizenship ...I say most because I know CHC-London doesn't send them

so the letter with my wife's case number and stating that it is in process, would be AOR?
there is no bar codes though

Yes the Sponsor gets AOR when they receive conformation of Sponsorship approval and the Applicant gets AOR when the Visa office notifies the Applicant they are now working on their application..dont worry about the bar codes not all visa offices are the same for some reason, it may mean no additional documents are required or the Korean Visa office may not use bar codes..that are not all that important, its the case file number that's important if you need to contact the Visa office.

i just clicked on a link in another thread and saw this..

Hello Folks,
Sept. 04, 2010, my wife receive AOR,file number and visa office New Delhi requested to submit from items.
- Payment of Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) to office in Mississauga by your sponsor in Canada, if not already paid.
- Submission of police clearance certificates for time spent in any country for a period of 6 months or more.
- Submission of original passport along with any old expired passports for you and your accompanying family members.

On letter it stated: Passports cannot be returned to addresses outside of India, Nepal and Bhutan.
If your current mailing address is not in India, Nepal or Bhutan please provide an address in that territory.

Since my wife mailing address is in U.S.A. and not in above stated country.

Perhaps you should call the Call centre to make sure tomorrow...

I suspect they mean they cant mail it back recorded delivery outside India, Nepal and Bhutan if you supply a self addressed envelope as requested in the PPR Letter. I was requested to supply an A4 envelope or bigger for them to mail back my passport recorded delivery from London. However I would be surprised if they wont return your wife's passport if you have provided a pre-paid fedex envelope!! ???

Good luck and Congrats on the passport request :D
