Hi guys, Just wondering how long did it take you guys to receive your PR card from the New Delhi office? Being sponsored as a spouse?
I just recently sent in my paper work

New Delhi doesn't issue PR cards. once you have sent you paperwork to CPC - Mississauga. It will take about 40 working days to process your sponsorship application(changes from time to time check CIC website for current processing times). Then CPC -Mississauga will forward your file to New Delhi (Generally takes around 2 weeks from date of approval). Then New Delhi will process your application and issue you immigrant visa (This process normally takes anywhere between 3 to 6 months depending on one's application complexities)

Once you land in Canada, then you fill out PR Card application form at immigration counter. Then they will mail out PR card to your Canadian mailing address you filled in the form.

lol ;D

This spreadsheet is mainly organized by Gwalyat..i am just helping him..
Fprince and gwalyat can answer your question better
As far as i know,Background check includes to check your criminal records basically...
during this period they also check genuineness in your relation..
check everything about both the families..

rest the things fprince and gwalyat will tell yiu :D

No one trust these days on a piece of paper.. Anyone can make one...

Its about letting someone in their country permanently to live and work. So, they do have to verify all the information provided..

Lets take a scenario, that someone has criminal history and applied for immigration to canada with fake PCC... CIC will risk their country's security by not verifying one's background...More over it will effect on our security once those kinda ppl are in the country...

I would suggest patience is the key my friend, everything they do have a reason... (Even when they screw things up cuz they are f****ds)...
:D

jasvarun has a point.
I can get a PCC for my dead grand parents by spending a few ghandhi notes..no big deal. 8)
A PCC is 100% different from a FBI Clearance, RCMP check etc..in fact it is just a piece of paper..
so CIC will run your history based on your PP for international history and within India - God knows how they check...
So yes...you can expect them to check everything during the so called BC check
