i guess u can travel outside n re enter canada using copr n pp bfr getting pr card.. others might provide better insight..

i want to ask hw do i send a CSE.. My consultant is a *censored word* head.. he's askin me to wait..

Baloo is right, the CoPR is not valid for air travel and re-entry into Canada, If you choose to leave before the PR card is received then one has to get a Travel document from the Embassy in India in order to return to Canada. It is much easier to wait for the card but if you can't then travel document is the only way to go. You will have no problem getting to India, you will have trouble witout it, trying to come back.

did nt knw abt it... but i can travel to us with it.. rite???

If you are travelling on an indian passport, you can not go to the US with just your CoPR, you need a US Visitor Visa. India is not visa exempt and being a PR of Canada does not exempt you either. Nor can you transit on a flight through US if you are on an Indian passport and hoping to land in Canada. You always need a US Visa.

@Gagan,

Any news about the PR card..... i have no idea.

Just curious, anyone who landed in May,June - Have you got your PR card yet?
Would be curious to know if they are back to speed...

But with a US visitor visa I can enter into Canada using COPR.. Is that rite?? I ve US visa already..

@ Manisha10: COPR is not a valid travel document.

On first entry to canada(Permanent Landing) you will need both of the following:
1. valid Permanent Resident VISA stamped on your foreign passport
2. COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Resident Visa)

On any subsequent entry to canada:
1. A valid passport.
2. PR card OR a Travel document Issued by Canadian embassy.

All a US visa does for you is lets you into their country. A CoPR is not the guarantee to get back to Canada once you have landed. You need your PR card or Travel document anytime you are not from a VISA exempt country. India is not visa exempt in the US or Canada

@nylalisa and harryca: thanks for clearing this up.. will surely help later on :)

I had the same situation..my file went to delhi in Dec'10..my first CSE was in March'11 and was told physical file is still in Ottawa.
2nd CSE was in May'11 and they replied and asked her to send the PP.

Eventually, after she sent the PP the decision was made in a week as the file was sitting there for more than 6 months.

There is nothing you can do, and i asked you a few times - Did you get in touch with your MP?
They can inquire on your behalf.

@fprince
I dont know how to get in touch with MP
i live in toronto my wife is in india hyderabad.

Hello All--

I haven't been visiting this forum since long time. A quick snapshot on our folder and I'm sponsored by my wife.

We got the CPC-M approval in November 2010 and my passport was requested by CIC ND in December 2010 and I got my CSQ approval in February 2011. As per eCas they started working on our folder on 13 Jan 2011.
So far no reply and no updates on our folder and we have already crossed 6 months time line and I never saw any updates on eCas after this date of January.

- I want to know if anyone here has got CSQ approval --- do they see this record on eCas regarding CSQ approval date?

- My medicals would be expired this month as per 1yr validity period on them. What can I expect from CIC ND on this?

- Can anyone share some insights on what could be the reason for delay? Should be of great help to us.

Thanks everyone!
