The lawyers are useless in this regard. Don't go by their word. They are only helpful in preparing the forms for you. They can't say anything on the timelines, as they act as representatives and they have to tell you what is published by New Delhi. The are restricted by law as to what they can say, even if you are asking them informally.

Meateater got it within 2 weeks and your case has been pending for a long time. So you should be getting visa soon.

Cheers!!

but i asked one of the lawyr & he told it takes almost 2-3months after medical is redone.........its really depressing

@Hams_shah
Welcome to the thread. You are right. People applied in March have received their passports with visa. This is very frustrating, but it's your luck. If you go through this thread, you will see complicated cases have been finalized in record time, but straight forward cases have been pending. There is no consistency in the process and New Delhi has all the explanation for delay - starting from background check to pending final review.

So only thing you can do is to have "PATIENCE". I hope you get the "Decison Made" status this week. My application also says "Application Received".

Cheers!!

As its been almost 2 months ND has the PP.

I was thinking something like "Famous ND Thread - Where Patience is Tested "" LOL

Cheers!!

Hi welcome to the Famous ND thread :)

It could take anywhere from 2 weeks - 4 mnths usually. Mostly depends on ur luck and partly on ur case. Good luck!!!
But looks like u received ur PPR a little later than usual. I would think you should get it anytime since ur already into ur 5th mnth of process.

I think you are right ... with New Delhi in picture solution to all the problem is "PATIENCE"... Thanx for the input and this is really nice to share the thought on this forum... i liked a lot...

hi......my husband got a call from nd to redo his medical as the previous medical results got expired on 3rd june......do they send back the passport by post or courier(blue dart)?to redo medical?

as far as my knowledge is concerned....they will keep the passport...u can just download the application (pdf file) from the website and take it your DMP and redo the medical...

once done...u can just send the papers (original) to them and dont forget to put the file # on top of the paper

keep us posted

good luck :)

True!!

When does the High Comm ask for PASSPORT? At the final stage? Or do they ask early/upfront when the file is transferred to them from Mississauga? I need passport to visit Husband on TRV.

Hi,
Just wanted to update everyone on my case...
PPR sent May 18 (PPR Rx June 6)
PP sent June 7 (PP Rx at CIC Delhi June 8 )
Status change on ECAS from 'application received' to 'in process' June 9

They generally ask for your passport early (for us it was a week after the file was transferred to Delhi). I have seen a few cases where they have taken a while to send out a passport request though.

Can we ask Canadian High Commission to take my Passport in Final Stage of Processing so that I can travel to Canada on TRV?

Also, does the Canadian High Commission reply to emails?

could you please tell me through which courier service you sent the passport to chc Delhi

I'm a bit worry about my case. It has been 3 weeks since the application arrived to CHC New Delhi, I haven't yet get the PPR. :'(
Shall I keep waiting or is it possible to contact them?

congrats for the PPR.

its bit strange that i received ppr request on 11th may 2011 and passport was delivered to CHC ND on 21st May 2011 and till date it is still showing "Application Received" instead of "In Process" or "Decision Made". Fingers crossed. ;)

You can not do anything with CHC ND. You do not have a choice to ask them to send a PPR as per your wish.
They can request PP anytime within the first 3 months the file is in CHC ND.
