missingyou,
Please note that it takes several days for any letter or fax or document/PP to reach to the VO in CIC New Delhi.
As you said, your wife's passport was received by CIC ND on Dec 22nd. There was only 4 working days between Dec 22 and Dec 30.
It might be possible that her Passport didn't reach the VO by Dec 30th. Hence s/he asked for the passport again..

Hopefully, everything is fine!!

Akrk,

why is it gonna take several days for the ppt to reach ND VO? Is it not gonna take just 1day as we use courier or speed post?

Whatever document we sent to ND, is first received by the mail room. They sort it and put it in appropriate file.
They might be receiving hundreds of mails each day. So, it does take time at least 3-4 days to reach to the VO, after it is received by ND

Note the line
Due to the high volume of correspondence received by this office, it generally takes several days following receipt to process passports and place them on file.

Hope this helps

Thanku akrk. So it looks like, our background verification would be going on, even before they process our ppt. They start processing our ppt only during final review and stamp the visa.

ohohogirl,

no problem

Yes Sanyrog. Background verification is a separate process and you are right, it would be going on .. .. even before the passport

Yes Applied03, My case is straight forward..
I am just counting on.. the 6 month time frame that ND has published, before sending any further enquiry

ND Sucks , I don't beleive them at all. What's the point of requesting a passport on September 24 and till now they havent responded back. It sucks
They should have a time period to return the passports

i m totally agreed with u panda,,,,,one way they are giving hope that our visa is on way to its destination and and we just keep on waiting today it will come ,,,tomorrow it will come,,,,6 months are too much for spouses who are newly married and wants to get settle in their life ,,,,,process time must be 1-2 months not more than that,,,, :(
