Dear all senior,,,

Please help me out of this question...

Though i posted on but not got any reply except one member who is also not sure of answer.


Need to know how much points i will get from Education.

10+2 = Full time after that

2 year Diploma in Pharmacy = Fulltime

3 year Bachelor in Computer Application = distance mode from IGNOU , New Delhi

2 year Master in Business Administration = Distance mode from ICFAI University .Dehradun.

My both the Distance university is UGC Approved .

Not sure if you are asking about skilled worker..... coz in family class they will not give u points regarding education coz even if anybody 10th pass they also have rights to be with spouse.

and if you asking about skilled worker then you try this Q. under skill category.....

@sanyrog : did u heard anything from embassy till now as our timelines are almost near so as per this thread almost everyone get aor and ppr in month of transfering file to new delhi......... i am also bit worried?????

ND Folks still waiting for the ppr should not get too concerned because I think the slow down in ND has been across the board ever since the common wealth games came in the news. Please remember that each case is highly specific and therefore it doesn't matter if the timelines match with someone else since each case is probably assigned to a different group of officers.

Anyhow, just to give you an example of the slow down in ND... My application was forwarded 8/24 and they started processing sept 16. However, my spouse didn't recieve the PPR until oct 9 and the letter was dated 10/5 (almost 6 weeks after the file transfer). So there you go! Also if I may use my fellow poster kal1313 as an example of similar timelines. We have the exact same start date for 'in process'. However, as far as I know, they still haven't recieved a ppr!! So go figure.

The best thing is to try (i know its tough) and keep your mind off this and pray that things fall in place as expected.

Hello All,

Wanted to share with you all my landing experience! First of, I simply loved the Jet Airways experience! I landed on Friday Noon and I must tell you all that Landing at Pearson Intl. went by like a breeze!!!! It was so damn quick! I landed at 12:30 PM and was out of the airport at around 1:15ish! Could not believe it! There was no line up / rush at all. I was directed to go to the immigration room and the lady signed my COPR and asked if I have kids! That's it! Luggage took about 10-15 mins after that. Turned in my Form B4 at customs as I had already typed/printed it up at home! That's it! Oh yes, I was waiting for someone to say "Welcome to Canada" and finally on my way out the Customs guy said it out loud!! Even, at the SIN Office today, the lady greeted me by saying that! Opened a new bank account and got a new mobile # over the weekend! Guys, I know it does not work if someone tells you so, but BE PATIENT! Everything works out in the end! Take me as an example and feel better Good Luck all!

I am glad your landing was great. I hope my husbands goes as smooth as he lands on the 9th of Nov. I traveled on Jet Airways several times and loved it. My husband is travelling on Air India, I hope its as nice as Jet airways.

Hello hello....

okay i need to clarify some things cause my brain is on the verge of explosion. I sent my wifes passport to new delhi at the beging on august...my question is, how do they ussually send it back, by speed post or courier?
does the cic website only get updated on tuesdays only? in other words is it possible that my wifes passport leaves last wednesday from the high commision and the website still shows "in process"?
For a personal note...I am ussually a patient person that is when I know how long I need to be patient for. But in this situation where I have no clue even remotly of how long I need to wait I am begining to loose my patience.
For all those future flyers out there flying from New delhi to Toronto as a frequent flyer on this route I would highly highly recommend jet airways over air india. Not that air india is bad or anything but their track record is not so good. once my parents got stuch at delhi airport for over 14hrs cause of air india. they wouldnt even let them back out of the airport! what the hell! anyways anxiety is just high these days.

yes ur right. this wait is killing us. Btw, we are using a representative, so our PPR would go to them to canadian address, which is an unnecessary delay for us as it takes abt 15days to 1month for the airmail to reach them I guess, u would get ur PPR before me

Sorry, I mis understood your question. Yes, if you are dealing with the Delhi office then you need their Immigration file # that they will send to you with your first correspondence. The Client ID from Mississauga doesn't mean anything to them. Only on eCAS do you see the same info using either ID.

New tougher Canada laws to curb illegal immigration
Canada, 25th October: The Canadian government has unveiled new tougher laws to control illegal immigration in the nation.

This will be done by introducing stiff penalties for those involved in human smuggling. Moreover, the federal government has also stated of detaining asylum seekers in Canada.

The main aim will be to crack down on those involved in human smuggling in Canada leading to their prosecution.

Some of the new measures include compulsory detention of human smugglers extending up to 10 years, prison sentences, a waiting period of five years for illegal immigrants wanting to make application for permanent residency in Canada, terminated refugee applications for those returning to their native nation for holidays and holding ship operators and ship owners to make them accountable for using ships in illegal Canada immigration.


The announcement about the new Canada immigration laws for punishing the guilty of illegal immigration in Canada was made by Vic Toews, Canada’s Public Safety Minister and Canadian immigration minister Jason Kenney in Vancouver on Thursday.

The new law states that anyone found to be involved in smuggling of more than 50 people to Canada for monetary reasons while risking his or her own life will have to spend 10 years in jail.

Mr. Toews stated clearly that Canada will not allow abuse of its immigration system either by people smugglers or those not willing to abide by Canada immigration rules.

The new stiffer and harsher penalties for human smugglers in response to the growing human smuggling activities in Canada which proved that Canada is being targeted by human smuggling networks, Toews.

The government of Canada had been promising tougher legislations ever since the officials caught a ship with 500 Tamils on B.C. coast this August. Almost a year ago, around 72 Sri Lankan Tamils had landed on Canada border. All such migrants have asked to be provided refugee status in Canada.

The officials say they have struggled for a long time to put together the rules that were approved by the Canadian PM (Prime Minister) Stephen Harper and cabinet.

The government of Canada stated that it will have to act tough or will be at risk of losing public support for Canada’s generous refugee and immigration system.

as per my knowledge i think they trying to affect spouse cases too coz they r trying to make some new law which one provide more power to visa officer to take design if marriage is real or just for enter in Canada and we all know even true couples with lot's of proof of relationship already suffering with them so what they will do after new law..................

From what I have heard the new rules that affect us have already come into play. This is the rule that gives the VO more authority to decide on the status of relationships. This one did go into affect and applies to all applications that are currently being processed. The new rules as of Oct 25th are targetting human smuggling and illegal refugee claims and I don't believe will negatively affect our applications.
