Long time lurker, first time poster here...

Another Tuesday passes and another week goes by with "in process"....so I decided to post my "story" in hope of some encouragement and perhaps some advise...

I filed an application for my wife on April 16th and got approved on June 21st. Reason for the delay is because I had applied before and was rejected due to my ex wife taking out a stupid one month of wellfare from the government. I repaid the money and filed another application in April. Anyways Delhi started processing on July 8th and sent PP request on the 9th which my wife received on the 16th and sent off on the 18th of July. Next she received a letter on Aug 7th dated Aug 2nd requesting my previous marriage's divorce judgment order and divorce certificate which by the way was included in the application. So we sent that off on the 9th of August and she followed up by sending an email the same day stating she had sent it off as requested. In return she got the standard jibberish stating that the file is pending an officers review (not initial, not final). So that is the business end of things.

Next is the emotional part of it, we got married Feb 16th 2009 and was happy to realize that we were expecting a baby 6 weeks into our marriage. I stayed in India til the last week of April, unfortunately at this point we had been told the pregnancy was a high risk one and applying ie going for medicals and police reports were not a priority. Rather my wife's well being was. We lost our baby girl nearly 6 months into the pregnancy at CMC Ludhiana on August 3rd 2009. I spent the next 8 weeks getting the application together, trying to get time off work and eventually quit my job and went to India. The plan was to be with my wife until the application was fulfilled. Anyways in December we got the letter about my ex wife taking out wellfare. So I paid that off did the new round of medicals and such and sent it off in April. In May when I was returning we got a second good news in that we were expecting a baby again. My wife is now 21 weeks in and so far so good, but we are desperate for her to be here as soon as possible for both our well being and sanity in addition to the safety of her and our child. CHC Delhi knows about both pregnancies as they have been well documented so I am at a loss as to why they are taking so long...I do realize it is my second marriage and so also my second sponsorship, but at some point common sense should prevail..

Thx for listening ???

Sunny

Hey Sunny - welcome on board and good to have you! Sorry to hear about your baby, the same happened to my wife when she was in India this March...but that's history and we all moved fwd!!!

From what it seems, they have asked for docs they needed and your relationship was never in question (after reviewing app) also, you seem to have a good handle on things...having said that, I believe you are right at the end and in the same category as some of us - expecting PP back any day!!! I guess now it's just a matter of time before the IO gets to review it and makes the decision...good luck to you my friend!

As a courtesy, and benefit of other, could you please add your timeline in our signature!!

Once again, good luck and looks like the D-Day is getting closer!

Cheers!

Thanks Minku,

Yeah I mean all should be well, however the pessimist in me tends to take over my head from time to time. I hope we all get to reunite with our loved ones as soon as possible.

Sunny

Sunny - The wait must be toughest for u so here's hoping the wait gets over at the earliest for u! I guess after we submit PPs, all logic & 'guesstimates', as to how long they keep it for, fails. We all can only pray and stay positive so that we don't lose our sanity! On an average, members here are getting it in 30-45 days. But beyond that, there's no theory behind time taken whatsoever! All the best.

But prixit, you are under a different sponsorship program - PNP, Provincial Nominee Program? Maybe the procedure followed and time taken is entirely different?

Hey guys - here the latest update for my case, I got a random email stating this...Below is the summary of 3 emails I have received in the last 3 weeks.

Aug 19 - Pending Final Review and a Decision by the officer
Aug 29 - Pending Review
Sept 8 - Background checks (I never sent a query) **Pasted below***

I'm really not reading too much into this...I have a feeling, my case is going to be dragged for awhile...any idea how/why 3 different emails in less than 3 weeks??

You pay over 1k for this process and seems like a chimpanzee replies for queries without thoroughly reading them!

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Under Canada’s immigration legislation, all immigrant applications are subject to statutory requirements, including medical and background checks. These requirements must be satisfied before an applicant may be granted permanent resident status. In this context, certain background investigations are being conducted in connection with your application. As these investigations are conducted by outside agencies, we have no purview over the processing time. We are therefore unable to give an exact time frame in which we expect to conclude the verifications on this case.

For now, there is no action required on your part. Please be assured that as soon as the checks are completed the next steps in this application will be determined. Until then, we will not be able to provide any additional information on this case.

Delays in the processing of visa applications are always disappointing to all concerned, but rest assured that all efforts are being made to ensure efficient and expeditious processing of all visa applications.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

As I understand, you did not send out an email to them requesting your status? They randomly emailed u with the matter you pasted? Thats so random and vague??? So weird! Maybe they are really concerned that you have been waiting for so long =) And this response suggests that background checks are going on. Where all have you traveled anyway? I remember you mentioned that you were in Canada for 8 years but besides that? I guess just ignore this vague reply and wait for next Tuesday!! *sigh*

I'm guessing someone replied twice to my 1 request???

I've only been to Canad to study/work/visitor...

Xyrus - "maybe they are really concerned"?? C'mon buddy...i almost fell of my chair laughing when I read that 8) :o...I think these buffoons care squat....i don't know man....let's just stop talking about this!!!

Eventually, one day they have to get back to me...until then...

Im at work now, and I dont really wanna think about this....I foresee myself taking an extended lunch and going for a beer!!!

Enjoy the weather Xyrus!!!

Hah,.I know I was being horribly OPTIMISTIC but we all know the real deal!!!!

Lunch?? I finished dinner an hr. back! Good Luck champ! The weather surely calls for a chilled freshly brewed beer at one of the micro breweries around =) Cheers!
