HEELOOO!!!! Glad to see our thread is buzzing with activity! WARM WELCOME - New Members, you all will be hooked on to this thread in no time. Sorry I could not log in earlier, all I would say is Delhi is full of action which keeps me busy =) Would miss it a lot when I leave. Coming back to the discussion:
SANYROG: There is no problem whatsoever in making visits! Just ensure the visits are short i.e., 2-3 weeks! It actually further strengthens the relationship as it suggests that the partners do miss each other and long to be with each other. Later on, if ever the visa office asks for relationship proof after the file is transferred, you can always furnish travel docs. and pics of the visit! It is easier for the sponsor to make visits as it is difficult for the applicant to get a Visa to go to Canada while the app. is in progress. This is because the Visa Officer won't get convinced of the applicant's ties and intentions of coming back. It may not be out of place to mention here that my file got rejected last year as my wife, the sponsor, A CANADIAN PASSPORT HOLDER, stayed for the entire duration of file processing and the Visa Office was not convinced that she would return when the PR Visa is issued to me. So she went back after we received the rejection letter, took up a job and an apt. lease to prove ties @ Canada. At your leisure, feel free to go through my case:

Wanted to share this issue just so you all don't make the same mistake I committed!
ALL: I sincerely recommend not to email, contact the Visa Office frequently. 1 or maybe 2 status queries does not hurt but beyond that it might tick off the Visa Officer. Just my personal opinion!
I don't think havin a Rep. would delay the case in anyway. It will be treated like any other app. It only means that you have allowed another person to contact the Visa Office to receive information/correspondence on your behalf. Good Luck!!
