My wife landed in Canada last week, I wish everyone get their visa ASAP, We experienced the bitterness of Waiting for 9 long yeas .

thnkssss n m still waitin for stage 1 they r taking soo longg its been more than 2 months how long they take for stage 1 ? all we got is one email form them 2 3 days back that they received our package .. n wts ths AOR ? is it the same thing tht they receive or package now how long they will take to process the application for sponsership approvel...

that email you received from CIC before 23 days was AOR (acknowledgement of receipt ) first stage approval is taking about 3 months and you are very lucky to have AOR. they dont send AOR to everyone, i received direct sponsorship approval after 96 days. i think first stage processing time is 86 days now and if you dont receive anything for next 2 weeks, start calling CIC call centre 2-3 times every week.
you dont need to worry, you will get it soon for sure

We both are in same boat I filed my case in nov 2011 as well but still waiting aug 6 was our marriage anniversary and we both were in 2 diff parts of world really depressing they requested some more documents on July 29 I mailed them those was expecting visa by aug 6 as documents reached Delhi office on aug 2 but I think visa officer doesn't know how it feels to be away for ur loved once I did everything I can but I guess no response and progress .dont know what to do and were to go .

tats sad actually, now its perfect time for you to inform your local MP and let them deal with the situation, In my case the call from MP's office helped me to get my file moving.

I hear you. This is very depressing. I don't know who to approach or complaint about this lagging process.

We got the visa stamped on 16th july got visa on 22th july got pp back and 2nd Aug my wife landed
