Hello everyone!
My wife got her passport today... with the visa stamped!
So just wanted to give you guys an update as to what happened during the processing of the visa...
The file was transferred to ND on 21 February 2011 and my wife got a letter dated 28 February 2011 to send the passport to ND. My wife sent the passport on 15 March and the application started processing on 17 March 2011.
There was absolutely no news from ND since then. My father-in-law visited ND on 29 August 2011 to find out what was the status. They said that there was something to do with the medical results. You can read my previous posts to find out about what happened then. (To give you a background... my wife did her medical tests when she was pregnant. The medical tests were not done in India and the x-ray was not done as she was pregnant.)
I contacted the MP in Canada and his office could not do anything. Absolutely nothing!
My wife decided to go to ND after 6 months were completed. She had the worst day in ND waiting outside and literally had to fight with the security till she was allowed to go in and talk to a Visa Officer. She had to wait almost 3 hours till she was allowed to go in.
After she went in, the visa officer saw the file and said that the doctor's office where the x-ray was done, sent a letter along with the medical results saying that my wife will be coming back to the same doctor to get the x-ray done. We left the country - I moved to Canada and my wife was in India. We did tell the doctor about it as well. So, CIC sent a letter back to the doctor asking for the x-ray. So it became a major issue due to a small issue.
So, my wife did her x-ray in Delhi and it was taken care from there. Visa was stamped on 7 October and she will be flying out soon to Canada.
Just an advice to people who have not yet applied... when you prepare the application, make sure that it is very clear and there are no unnecessary complications. It will delay things and ND is not to blame for it. If the application is straight forward with all the required documents, there should not be any delay.
Thank you guys and good luck to everyone!
