Hi everyone, kindly guide

As i have four passports with me ( 1st one renewed because i changed my address, 2nd renewed because it got damaged, 3rd renewed coz i have to include my surname with my given name and finally i have 4th one with me rite now)
I have given all the details and xerox copies with my application (spouse visa) to CIC-M.

Also, i have applied for UK in 2000 and 2008 for student visa and Working Holiday Maker resp., but my applications were refused at that time by British High Commission because the VO thought i would not come back after my visa got expired and maybe due to lack of funds.

I recently got married (my wife is PR in Canada) and submitted applicationin Sep'11

Kindly tell, would it effect my application (having 4 passports and refusals from UK Embassy?)

- Application was returned to me on Aug 10, 2011 (As we took a chance in sending the application without her medicals as she was out of india on work)
- Resent Application on September 01, 2011 (with her medicals)
- Was approved for sponsorship on September 16, 2011

Hello Buddy !

Welcome to this forum

Your current or past employment/education/Passports/visa rejection status @ other countries has nothing to do with the PR application. In PR application only the following factors matter to the VO;

a) whether relationship is genuine,
b) background/ security clearance, and
c) medical reports.
d) marriage should be legit

FYI : Any previous refusals from any country (including Canada), education, employment status etc are NOT the deciding factors for PR application. Even if you get a interview call by CHC you will be asked questions regarding your relationship only.

How do you know that BC is done prior to PPR, I thought BC is done after PPR. Please share.

Very rarely CHC goes through some extensive background/security checks & investigations, when they have some serious concerns regarding relationship or past record. Every year almost 20% spouse visa applications take more than 6 months to process at CHC ND !

Background checks are done to determine whether you or your family members are a security risk to Canada.These will be done in each and every country you've resided in - how long it takes depends on how many countries you've lived/worked in, and how well their local agencies cooperate with CSIS.No one can tell for sure about how long BC takes to complete. Generally they do BC from all those countries where applicant has spent 6 or more months including the home country.

FYI : PPR can be issued during initial or final review of the case files !

Overall @ any cost they have to issue us visa ! So Just relax Buddy !

Hello Everyone,

I am happy to inform all of you that finally I got decision made. ;D

It was a long journey.It took almost 8 n half months.My timeline is as followed:
Application filed : 10th Feb 2011
Sponsorship approval : 10th Mar 2011
File received at ND office : 22nd Mar 2011
Passport request : 29th Mar 2011
Passport received at ND office : 7th Apr 2011
Processing started : 18th April 2011
Medicals done : 30th Dec 2010
RPRF Paid : 4th Apr 2011

I think my case was simple but it still took such a long time.I visited CHC New Delhi in June and they said that my case is clear and I can expect passport soon.But that did not happen.We got in touch with our MP early in August and after waiting for 4-5 weeks we got a reply in mid Sept that my Medical is in process and nothing seems to be an issue.I mailed CHC New Delhi 4-5 times in past few months and I got a reply two weeks back that my final review is pending.And finally I got decision made this weekend.So, the issue was that my Medical was not attached to my file.

My suggestion to all in the waiting queue is just to hang in there.Every genuine case is gonna get their visa.Have patience.Trust God.Everything will be fine.Just enjoy your time here in India with your loved ones.

I hope everyone gets their visa soon and everyone can start their married life with their partners as soon as possible.

Welcome to the forum! Hopefully you will find the help you need here

If you are a PR or a citizen, then you can easily sponsor your wife. By dependent visa do you mean that you are on a work permit?

However, I personally do not think you will need the help of a representative unless your's is a complicated case, which I hope is not. So do not waste your money on any consultants or representatives. For all the information on the process you can start by reading this:
