Congratulations Rahul! That is great news. I hope that ours goes just as smoothly although I am not so sure. We just got a request for additional information about my divorce Not sure what that is all about. Guess we just have to wait and see. But it does continue to build hope when we see people reaching their goal!

Chinthu - It all depends how the Visa Officer updates your details online. Some add the medical info, some don't. So random!!! But no worries!

Vish - Thanks much. This forum is so informative and useful! I'm still waiting for the visa. No news yet! Good Luck with your application. Average total time is anywhere between 3-5 months! But no one knows, really! Every case is different. Make sure plenty of relationship proofs and all mandatory docs are enclosed. Also, make sure you've filled in and signed the app. forms accurately wherever necessary. Cases usually get delayed if an interview or any additional docs. are required. Like in my case, it has got delayed cz they needed my US Police Clearance Cert. But that's just my guess. Who knows what's cooking at the embassy @ my app. Hope its early for u!

I have a question. I have color photocopies of some cards. Should I have them certified? or should I just send them like that? I am translating some e-mails from Hindi to English. I think I shall definitely have to have them certified! Please let me know which other documents I would need to be certified?

Yes My status changed to Decision Made today... Visa Stamped oN 28-09-10, they dispatched it on 30th n i got on 4-10-10...

Vish - No need to certify/translate supporting docs. We sent copies of cards/letters as well without getting them certified. You only need to certify/translate official docs. like birth certificate, marriage certificate, clearances etc.
I got a copy of my Birth certificate translated and notarized as it was in hindi! Good luck!

Can any1 pls tell me whats AOR? When will we get it? and where will they send it? to my sponsor in canada or to me?

Hi sanyrog,

The AOR is the acknowledgement of receipt. Delhi will send it to the applicant when they start working on the file. For us, this came with the request for the passport and any unpaid fees and police checks. Then, if any additional documents are needed, they will send the applicant a request.
