yes, I am a citizen and I was there some almost 7 months in the yr 2007-2008 taking some courses in psychology, infact thats how my hubby and I met. I came back in july 2008, went back in dec 2008, got married. Then I came back for a bit in 2009, lived with my folks. went back and lived with him from 2009-2010 sept.

So we knew each other pretty well and all

This is interesting...talk about "contradictions" within CIC.
As a Canadian Citizen ( no PR ) you can live in Mars and sponsor your spouse to Canada..wonder why they were so interested to know your phyical residence in Canada...

I'm guessing it's because they want to see she intends to live in Canada...since she's been going to India back and forth...like how u need to prove u r returning bk to Canada if ur living outside Canada and sponsoring ur spouse as a PR...

@charmz...did CIC ever question u as to why u took too long to apply?, considering u got married in 2008.

CIC wants to make sure that you should not live outside Canada while u send ur spouse to live in Canada. In this case there is doubt of MOC coz someone will come to Canada as PR but his or her spouse continues living outside Canada.

Exactly..as i said as a citizen you don have to live in Canada to sponsor you wife to Canada..You can land and leave anytime..accompanying a citizen is considered to hold your PR status.

like how u need to prove u r returning bk to Canada if ur living outside Canada and sponsoring ur spouse as a PR... - Not for a Candian citizen..You never have to prove that by a certain date you both will resume residency in Canada as far as i know.
The rules only are strict and affect the Sponsor if he/she is a PR.

In the last 6 months i have seen ND do crazy things every 3 months, don worry.
This could be a standard PPR request for all new applicants around this time..this looks like a generic fu$king request.

Thanks for sharing and i expect the same letter when she gets it. Usually ND does all these random things so when you sample them you can not come to a conclusion on their process or the way they send out documentation. They just keep changing the order..ppr/doc request...doc req/ppr..ecas updates, the in process status ect..

This really helps, others waiting for PPR..Take note..

I guess it could be a generic request, but it is the typos, grammar usage, capitalization, use of "." and "," or the lack of it from a place like Canadian High Commission that makes me sit and shake my head. What kind of an image of the country are we projecting? I know I probably should be expecting ND to do anything really by now, but you know I would have liked to see at least them typing up a letter professionally.

And yes, they are, as always, unpredictable. In my case, it was a PPR & Doc Request combo letter.

It looks like your bring forward date is 27 May (45 days from 12th April)

I suggest you can send scanned documents to your wife and she can print & send it to ND. It will be faster and economical. You dont need to send ND originals

I shall say now your case is almost done coz usually VO ask for canadian residence proofs at the end of the process.

If they are not fixed with this Bring Forward date of 27th May, I guess ND will issue you visa very fast....may be right away after receiving PP and documents from you....

I did send then my last 26 pays stubs for last one year.........also option c and letter from employer.....and t4.......


next,...... I think i will have to send videos, me entering my apartment and also my job place to new delhi....

Nd mysterious ways keep everyone baffled.......

I am actually planning on scanning all the documents and sending them over to my wife and she can print it all off there and package it together. In addition to all the docs they have mentioned, I will also be sending them the passport pages showing my entry/exit from India, boarding passes, etc. As for when the medical was done, in addition to the written details I will also send photocopy of the form that was signed and stamped by the doctor (original already sent) as well as the fee receipt.

Excellent point - As a PR(sponsor) you have to show them that you will live in Canada..hence these doc request.

Question to clarify my point..as usually when a sponsor is employed, it's hard to go to india get married and spend more than 2-4 weeks ( depends on job )

I was there for 4 weeks..when i returned i did send them my letter from employer etc...which along with my Option C was returned with the AOR.

I read it somewhere ...may be in bufflo thread and also in some CIC manual. I guessed it coz this is usualy the last stage. means now they are ready to issue visa but b4 that they want to make sure sponsor's living in Canada.

Time i cant guess....as per my guess our visa might have already been issued

but if u see case of Panda...he was issued PPR on 10th feb and he submitted PP on around 24th and his decision was made on 3rd March (total 21 days). if we do the same calulation for u....ur decision should be on 3rd May.....

so send doc fast....I hope you should be done by 3rd may if they dont wait to bring forward your file until 27th may

Yes, I am a Canadian Citizen and that is why I'm even more confused about the residency question. I was in India for 6 weeks during the marriage (worked out well as being Christmas holiday season I was able to get a few extra days off). I returned in early January and have not travelled outside the country since then.

BTW...I'm glad I was able to save you the cost of a few cases of beer, LOL.

I was in India for 6 weeks during the marriage (worked out well as being Christmas holiday season I was able to get a few extra days off). I returned in early January and have not travelled outside the country since then.

for me i get it i am a PR and i have to prove that i will live and am living in canada and will bring my wife with me..
ND...wow..they deserve an award for all the "just for showing i do my job without reading a manual "
