Yeah its very strange, and your VISA (current) says T or V on the TYPE of visa?

I hope you mean OCI , and not PIO as far as I know no more PIO, just the OCI, correct me if I'm wrong.

DNT2003
Yes its a TV and yes I mean PIO. I wasn't born in India, my grandparents and father were. But since my husband is India, I am also entitled to the PIO. They still have it, I already started the process for it.

I shall suggest that fprince must do something to tell CIC to locate the file...may be through MP...

It is not normal that it takes so much time for file to reach ND....something is wrong...u never know if they have lost the file or something

And in my view it is not necessary to have the hard to assign it a file number.....these file numbers may also be generated at the time of creating soft file in the database (GCMS).

But I wish you luck that things are not too bad
He's already gone through the MP and they wont help again until 6 months. Especially now in election time, they are busy. They are difficult when they arent in elections.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, nylalisa is right the MP won't help me as i was already told that it can take 6 months..but to locate my file my only option is another CSE to Delhi.
My understanding ( and hopefully that is how it works is ) ND creates a File number when they have a hard copy..if this is the case, i got my file number around 14 days ago..so i should have a PPR this or next week, but just can't wait on assumptions..i will try to send a CSE again and see if they can get back to me with a proper answer instead of the same B.S they gave me when i sent the first CSE.
This was their standard crap for the first CSE inquiry, i just hope i don get the same crap again !

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

This is in response to your request for an update on the status of your application. We do our best to make sure everyone who has applied to immigrate to or visit Canada is provided with effective and efficient service. We receive an enormous amount of correspondence daily. Although we would like to respond to all of it, we recognize that it takes resources away from processing applications, which leads to longer processing times. As a result, we do not provide detailed replies to applicants requesting a status update on their application.

Applicants for permanent residence may check the basic status of their application on the Citizenship & Immigration Canada (CIC) website: Client Application Status: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en

Applicants can also check the Processing Times page on our website for information about how long it takes for applications in the same category to be finalized: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/india-inde/visas/processing_times-durees_traitement.aspx

Please note that changes in the volume of new applications received and in the resources available to process them can lead to shorter or longer processing times. Some applications, owing to their complexity, take longer to process than others. Processing could be delayed by any of the following factors:

- An interview is required
- The applicant has not complied with a request for documents or information
We are awaiting the results of background checks or verifications
A medical examination and/or treatment is required

Applications are processed in the order in which they were received. If any action is required on your part, we will contact you using the contact information you have provided on your application.

If there has been a change of your marital status, family configuration, or address, you may update your application, but we request that you send a signed request by mail, fax, or scanned e-mail attachment (see our contact information below).

Please provide the following information in all correspondence with our office:

- the subject of your message
- applicant’s full name (SURNAME, Given names)
- date of birth (dd/mm/yyyy)
- country of citizenship
- file number [letter followed by a nine-digit number]
- telephone number, including area code,
- fax number, including area code,
- mailing address,
- email address (if you wish us to correspond with you by email)

If you are making an enquiry on behalf of a friend or relative, please note the Canadian Privacy Act prohibits the disclosure of personal information from our files without the written consent of the person concerned. Information may only be disclosed to a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident specifically named by that person, or to an authorized representative. See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/representative/index.asp for further details.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum to help us serve you better.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Send them back an e-mail telling them you appreciate your response, but you have heard nothing about any complexities of your case, you havent even been asked for PPR since that is required for background, tell them you have gone to your MP and there is no info for you, except for some administrative mistake that lead to a delay and you want an answer.

Not sure if i posted the reply i got back from my MP. This email i assume was sent from CHC ND to the MP's office when she inquired my case.
Based on what is said below, ND claims that they create a file number once they have the kit and original files, again nylalisa should be right with the creation of file numbers in delhi and a hard copy is required.

" All applications to sponsor relatives for permanent residence in Canada are initiated by the sponsor, who submits an undertaking of support to the Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Mississauga. Once CPC Mississauga approves the sponsorship, both our office and the sponsor are notified. In sponsored spouse and child cases, the applicant’s application and supporting documents are forwarded by CPC Mississauga to the visa office for priority processing.

Our records show that, in this case, we have received notification from CPC Mississauga that the sponsorship has been approved, but we have not yet received the application kit, including all the necessary forms and supporting documents.

As the application kit should be received shortly, we request the applicants to await contact from our office. Once a file has been created for the application, it will be reviewed and an eligibility decision made. If it is determined that an interview will be required, a letter will be sent to the applicant advising of the date and time for the scheduled interview. If it is determined that the interview can be waived, the applicant will receive a request for submission of original passport and any other documents or information required to finalize the application.

I trust that this information will be of assistance in responding to your constituent. "

send CSE..........Wish you luck fprince

Stay strong ....I had a feeling that once this BS is sorted out...they will process your file fast as they usually process old files for spouses with priority if they dont have any specific reason to delay it.

In your case since your case is in "In Process" for a long time.....I guess they might have had all the checks done.....now they only have to do final review and they will issue the visa to you.......

Hope for the best............

@fprince

When I read this letter, I'm wondering if they have the sponsor forms but have lost
the principal applicants forms.

It could be my imagination, but I thiought I read somplace you could send in only
the sponsor forms and CIC will send the application kit to the principle applicant
to fill out and then mail in. Longer but allowed. Like sending in the PCC and medical
forms later.

i guess @ this point...it could b anything...loss i transit...file is sitting somehwhere on someone's table etc

but as fprince mentioned that his wife got the File Number now, so i am sure that they probably have the file with them cuz nylalisa mentioned in one of her post that chc nd only creates the file if they have the file in front of them....

so i am pretty sure fprince will hear the good news in coming days :)

Nope. but its Day 49 of being in Delhi. Still says application received. But ecas is never really updated that often anyways.
But at least anything can happen in the next month. In my study 20% of the people got it done in the 50-65 day period.
At least now, I should have a reasonable chance of hearing some news now.

Hopefully tomorrow. I have tons of patience, but my wife wants to come right away.
