@ Gagan,

I am fine, but thanks for encouraging words. We all here, have been around for a while. I started this process back in December, so quite often when we see a pattern we like to test things out.

Sorry FPrince... didn't mean to freak you out. Dont worry about PPR just yet, order your CAIPS, do it yourself though, it's easy and they are giving you a 30 day committment to service. Third parties charge more and people seem to wait a bit longer. It seems mail is getting slow in India, our interview letter was dated for the 22nd of Feb but we only received it on the 8th. So that's quite a difference in delay compared to the other letters we have gotten.

On a side note, when I was talking to the agent at CIC in Canada for CAIPS, she said she was having trouble even finding the file in India. She says it appears they have started processing it, although she stated it was impossible where we have been called for an interview. She said it should be well into processing stage with notes as to why we are being called upon. So right now they are doing an investigation.

No update for me this week also! It's so hard to wait...God please help us..Jai Mata Di

The consent form talks about the applicant...so when i fill it out do i put my wife's names on it and send it to her to sign and send it back?
or as a sponsor should we include our details as the applicant?
so confused, can you help...anyone who has ordered it please

I filled out these 2 forms and sent them in with 5$ money order. My understanding is you only need to do the second one, but I did both to be sure. You could always call them to make sure. For the form you are asking about, the instructions on that website state you need consent both from Applicant (your spouse) and the person making request (you). So you would both need to sign. But like I said, I didnt go through a thrid party company.

Hey Vish,

Was urs arranged marriage ? How about your wife's travel history ?

Vish,

You should get it soon...I think from what i noticed, In a genuine relationship most of the delay comes from the Wife's travel abroad....Most likely this weekend or next tuesday is my guess for you

Getting excited to go to India, even if it is for a dreaded interview..lol Just the fact of seeing my husband in person after nearly 6 and a half months is worth it. Dropped off my ppt for visa approval, and hoping to leave on the 23rd.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for a place to stay in ND that isn't too expensive and also not a completely disgusting place. :D Suggestions would be awesome.

Thanks canuckWaiting,
I am just checking ECAS every 30 mints :) thanks again!

You should look into getting a OCI or PIO card instead of a visa next time

PIO = 15 years visa free travel to india - Just need to prove you are married to someone in india - You also get to use the priority line at Indian Custom/Immigration. You can also buy property in india, work, have a bank account etc

OCI = Liftime VISA to India - Need to proove you where born india, or your parents or grand parents where - you also get the same treatment as PIO , but just for lifetime instead of 15 years

OCI/PIO is pretty much like Canadian PR Status but for india

For hotels in New Delhi - find a indian travel agent
way cheaper then expedia or booking from here or hotel directly

@ Asurania,

Thanks for the suggestions. My plan is to apply for the PIO when I get back from this trip because I need copies of my husbands ppt and our marriage cert signed from the patiala house in order to apply for it.

I would apply for OCI, but I don't have much contact with my father's side of the family so getting proof they held Indian citizenship is a pain.

Also thanks for suggestion on travel agent instead, I was looking online to book. Still need to book my flight too.
