Guys,

Is "Aadhaar" a National identity document? My wife received this card couple of months back and she included in her application as a national identity document. It is a new identity document introduced by government of India. Did anyone else use this as national identity document?

Normally how many days will it take to receive PP after its mailed? My wife's status showed DM on last friday.

april 7th : they received the application
may 11th : they sent the sponsorship approval letter
may 28th : they started processing the PR application
june 2nd : ppr request
june 4th : they received my passport
till now waiting....

Does anyone know if the e-cas status is changed once a week even after the file has reached New Delhi? as when I log-in it says this is updated usually on Tuesdays??

Does the CHC-ND update the status, or do they send it to Canada for them to change the status?

Hey all you pro out there, question for you?

According to the CIC-M call centre agent my file was transferred to NEW DELHI VO on the 12th of june, just so let you know my application was received on march the 9th.
I have the UCI number and i also have the file number though i cant check my status on ECAS, its been 6 days now that i am not able to get any info with the help of the UCI code or the file number...
Is anyone else having the same problem, do they not update the ECAS on regular basis....can anyone guide me on how the process work when it comes to ECAS.....

I am currently in Canada on Tourist visa.
My husband had filed for my PR in March.
My Application got approved on 04-06-12 and the file was transferred to VO ND.I got my Passport Request mail from CHC,ND today.
Is it advisable for me to go back to India and submit my passport at this stage or can I send it later at the final stage of processing?
In case I send it at the final stage,will it lead to any delay in processing?

cic emailed me that they sent my pp a day before DM was reflected on the site...they stated it takes 8-10 days to receive the package sent via registered mail

weird that my status changed back from DM to In process ; but in the details i still see that a decision has been made..

what does that mean? did the pp get returned back to ND or what?

I think its some clerical error. Since you have got the letter from CHC , it means that your DM is done. need not to worry.
just keep an eye on e case

How long does it on an average from the status to change from In Process to Decision Made and eventually get passport back , my passport has been with New Delhi from Past 4 months and the status changed to In Process from Application received only yesterday 18th June , really hope I get it before July 3rd Week so I can spend Ramadan with my Wife .

You can do either of the two. If you want a speedy process, go back to India now and send your passport. Or if you want to stay with your husband for sometime- write a detailed letter requesting for a second passport request. However, this will somewhat delay your process. How much delay, I don't know...
