i am no expert, but afaik they will open your file 30 days from the date on the PPR letter or 30 days from they date they received ur passport.

then prelim(or eligibility) will happen this is usually 5 days if it is straightforward. then your file will become INPROCESS then another few days.

this is how things worked out for me.

CIC received PP on feb 21 and my status changed to IN Process on march 26 with "Started processing on March 21". for a friend of mine , they requested additional photos so his thing didnt move to inprocess for 30 days after they received and processed the extra photo proof he showed.

Then i got a letter from them asking us to redo the security check forms (dated apr 11 with a deadline of may 26). we sent these. they received the forms on apr 20.

so i was waiting for something to happen by may end and it went to DM on june 3. prob cos my wife has never left india.

My sponsor ship was approved on jan 24 but my file reached new delhi only by feb 13 (yea 20 days !!! my MP told me this) my PP req was dated feb 16.

thanks amira and i hope you get DM soon! i just opened my husband's ecas today and found his Indian address there, as it was not there before. do you think this means they are starting to work on my case? when did your husband's Indian address show on ecas? i think it is a good sign. pelipeli and me have the exact same timeline and same movement on ecas on same day. i think the visa officers have some kind of schedule and i have heard from many people on here that it goes into process only when background checks are finished but its not the same in every case.

Actually, although the ecas status changed to in process yesterday, the Indian address is only visible today. The name of the state is missing but I'm not worried since the PPR had the complete correct address.

Excited to see so many people getting status updates and addresses showing up. This surely means the officer is working on your file even if your status still says application received.

Hope the trend continues ...DMs for everyone within 4 weeks hopefully

Address appearing and disappearing is nothing to do with case processing.
we have seen this before.

My address got back in e-cas after 5 months now, but status is still the same.

When address disappeared, it happened globally like this, for people in various stages of processing.

this is the visa issuing month ,,mostly chc issue visas in these month most,june ,july,august.
so pls u contact ur MP again.
it will help ur application move faster.

Sorry dont want to be rude here but when you call someone in the morning at 7:30 or 8:00 (IST) then what do you expect. However i do answer your phone at anytime you phoned.

Whatever i was known I told you everything but you were asking me things like that I was the one who making desicion on everyone's application.

my wife received her pp with visa and COPR just now.

it was stamped on june 1. but ecas updated on monday morning 10 am india time.

thanks. btw they are sending it in speed post.

last time when they send docs in normal post it took 3 days now it took 5 days in "speed post"

I think they use register post. Anyways had you received any tracking number for your passport?
