Now I am lost...
There is no mention of this RPRF fees in application package. How are we suppose to know that we need to pay if they don't mention it.
Should I wait for my UCI no. or just pay the fees and send in the receipt to CPC-M?
Can I pay it now and send the receipt with Passport to ND or send it now to CPC-M?
Then what was the $550 fees for?

Yeaa its an additional $490, called Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF). I didn't know about this before, you should pay it and send it as soon as you can. It looks like it delays the process if they didn't see this payment with your sponsorship package. I only paid it after I rec'd my sponsorship approval on May 2nd, still haven't rec'd PPR. When normally people recevie PPRs within 2-3 weeks.

you have an option to pay it even after you get the passport request letter from ND.

Pay it online.
You will get the receipt in email.
Take two copy of printout.
Fill one and send it to CPC-M (I sent it through post)
Fill another and send it to ND, along with your passport, when you get your PPR.

My file was sent to ND on 27th Feb 2012, Since then I did not hear anything from ND. So I requested my MP to get some update. I believe he sent email to immigration on 27th May,2012. But till now we have not received any reply from immigration. It's been 4 days almost.

Does immigration take so much time to reply to MP also ? Any idea ?????

No. I filled up the application myself and included everything in the beginning and never got request for additional docs.

Could you clarify one thing - did you actually go to :"in process" before getting PPR? It's usually the other way around.

Yes. My application went into "in process" before sending the passport. I also received second PPR when that happened and I sent my passport later.

my brothers wife is 25 and my brother just turned 22. he is canadian born. he knew his wife for 3 weeks before they got married. it was arranged. do you think she will get an interview?

my husbnd and i met 1.5 years ago at my cousins wedding. our families were at first against the marriage but eventually agreed to it. we have our fb records, emails, tickets, letters, calenders and gifts.

Sorry to say but my guess is your sister-in-law may be called to an interview. In arranged marriages the bride isn't usually older than the groom (I think), and also your brother was quite young (21?) at the time of marriage. Just my thoughts, hope I'm wrong.

As promised, I am back to share landing experience of wife.

Everything went well...Immigration officer greeted her and just asked couple of questions like where is she coming from, which flight, if she brought any valuables, if anything is shipped from home town to arrive at later date and the address where shes gonna stay...

Got a welcome kit containing important address and organisations to meet for her career here...

Rest of it is all cool...Trying to settle down..

They started processing my file from Feb 20 and it went to in process.


If your status is still application received, it may not be because of RPRF fee, it might be because of some other delay, like eligibility criteria, etc...

Hi. Thanks for your reply.

I asked the MP's office, and they said there was no problem and my file is in queue for getting processed. They didn't give me the BFD or any valuable information at all. Contacting them was a waste of time.
