hi all,

finally got a snail mail from CIC ND. they are asking me to send IMM 008 Schedule 1 Background Declaration Form.

They are saying i left 8,9,10,11 blank. it is also telling me to fill in all info from age 18.

now here is the deal :) there is no such form as "IMM 0008 Schedule 1 Background Declaration" .

IMM 0008 is the main application form, that has no background information in it.

the one with background information is IMM 5669.

i googled "IMM 008 Schedule 1 Background Declaration" and did find a form , but i have no idea if i should fill that , or if i should fill the form in http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

and the sections 9,10,11 are irrelevant and i have given NONE in them and 8 is filled (checking copy of the form i sent).

god knows wat the immigration officer was looking at.

any ideas guys ? i am thinking of writing a letter explaining that i coudnt find the Schedule 1 form in the website under Souse PR outside canada, and we found one by searching within the website. i will fill both 5669 and Schedule 1 and send in a day.

so then they havent started BG check for me. will take 2 months easily now i gues. :(

Thanks for your valuable information amira_mais. That's helpful.

I didn't get the point "You may go directly to sponsorship approval . 50% chance of either option " . Could you please explain a bit more here ?

Thank You once again !

Hello there, your husband will keep the same client PR ID; it's unique to him so CIC won't normally issue a new one. However, e-cas won't show you your application status until an AOR is issued or you may go directly to sponsorship approval. 50% chance of either option. Stage 1 processing times are up to 84 days right now so you have a bit of a wait if that keeps up. Good luck with everything!

As far as I can tell the old "Background Declaration" was "IMM 0008 Schedule 1" http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm0008_1e.pdf

Which was changed to "5669 Schedule A" http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5669E.PDF

But since you applied in November 2011, you should have (and probably did) use the new "5669 Schedule A" (I think the new form came into effect in July 2011)
So check which of the two forms you sent in and make sure you answered all the questions on it.

waiting for sponsorship approval for more than 80 days

I think CIC doesnt care about families and other relations they are just looking for immigrants who can pay huge amount of taxes. if your spouse doesnt have good qualifications, work experience and high potential to find a good job in canada, CIC is going to give you very hard time.

This processing is very infuriating and can make people very depressed and hopeless.

Canadian government's policies are also based on their cultural ideas. They are lacking family values and Canadian culture devalues marriage and other important relationships. The idea is that marriage will only last a couple years, which is why their processing time is so long. They expect your relationship to end during processing time. They only need your processing fees and appeal fees after rejection. Immigration policies are designed to force separation on couples and families, while at the same time government is claiming to promote family unity. They seem to be trying to test people to see if their marriage can withstand the stress, tension, hardship and emotional and psychological struggle that the immigration process and separation creates. Parents and grandparents sponsorship is discontinued and CIC is creating the same problems in getting their tourist and super visas (saying they will not return to home country because of family in Canada). For tourist visas, they say you need to know someone (have friend or relative) in Canada, but it is actually the opposite. They reject tourist visas for the same reasons people apply with. If you have relatives (or spouse especially) in Canada, they will say you will not return and reject your application. When applying for tourist visa, they ask about your financial ability to support yourself. If you show less than $10 000, it is not enough, if you show more than that, it is too much (therefore you will not return after tourist visa expires).

Many people are forced to leave their spouses and children soon after marriage and waiting to see their family again. A couple needs to be together to support each other especially during this very difficult time (our lives depend on this application). Also, denying tourist visas to sincere people who just wish to see their spouse and children is unacceptable and punitive. Canadian culture is individualistic and they do not want you to bring your family (for example skilled workers have to immigrate alone). People are not getting married until 30-40 or not at all these days, and Canadian population is ageing. People are not having children any more!!!

I dont know what can we do about this, but we just want to stay together, despite CIC's expectations. We are Indian and do not believe in separation after marriage. We are trying our best to stay together.

Hi, CAPRWIFE - I meant that from what I've seen of recent applications in January 2012, about 50% get an AOR (as first communication from CIC) followed some days/weeks later by a sponsorship approval letter ... but the other 50% get the sponsorship approval itself as the first communication (that's what happened to me). It doesn't affect the overall processing so don't worry about if you don't get an AOR.

Hello Friends,

Thank you very much for your wishes & blessings..
I attended Interview today and it was very positive. Visa Officer was also nice. There were few queries that is the reason that interview was held. Due to major Mistakes from my Lawyer my application has been delayed. : @
At the end of the Interview Officer returned my Passport as i will have to do My Medical again and Have to re-submit my Police Clearance Certificate as it's been over a Year now.

Officer told me that soon they have my PCC and Medical they will issue a Visa in 2 weeks time.

Experts, can one of you please comment on this. I'm little bit worried at the moment as Officer gave my passport back (however he told me that i need that to do my PCC).

Could one of you please advice is it normal??

I will posting my Interview Details shortly, so that it will help others who will be attending Interview next.

Thank you guys one again!!
