Strange.

My hubby's PCC was from the regional passport office too but no fingerprinting calls were made to him..I don't mean to scare you...maybe they have introduced a "random biometrics" check now..

I kinda noticed the "pause" that ND has made, hopefully by this weekend, we'll see more DM's!!

Update: When I log on into ECAS, under permanent resdience application for my hubby, it says "unavailable" and we are not able to log in with his info. We used mine and that's what we noticed..I guess once you land, it goes away and comes back when pr card has been sent out.

my wife's neighbour hood postman does VIP service ...!!! (I dont like it anyways..)

Like he calls and let her know if any imp post comes..!! (what ????)
and asks the time to come.!!!

Hahaha Siva, funny but unfortunately true. My wife said their postman is also paid something during every festival. She says their salaries are so meager that they depend on these for festivals. I don't know if that's good or not but guess it became a habit now.

I received my passport yesterday with visa. It was issued on 31st jan, not feb 4. FINALLY done. We are preparaing to leave..I read that they might ask for marriage certificate and other stuff.I have the original in canada, I hope photocopy would work too. And also the amount u can carry is 10,000..is that just the cash u can carry or it includes other things u r taking, e.g jewelleries??

Hi every one......good news...

okay so...does this sound like a bollywood event to you guys? so i was on the way to mumbai from canada to see my wife who is from delhi. we had decided to meet in mumbai. so after i got out of the airport, i kept looking for her all around but couldn't find her. then getting mad and impatient, i called her and asked her where at the airport she is. she replied she is in delhi. i was like what the hell. why? then she said she got the visa!!!! these all happened only in between 11 hrs or so when i wasnt in touch with her while i was litrally on my flight. so yeah my wife finally got the visa. i am a june applicant and yes, no interview. the status remains unchanged, still in process. anyways, so for those who are still waiting, hang in there. it will come right to you. all you need is patience that i failed to convince even my wife to have.

Wow that was quite dramatic. You were 100% right when you said it's like a bollywood movie event. As Siva said, you can definitely compare it to surfing, ups and downs. Congratulations and have an awesome journey back to Canada.

I got PPR last month ....
I got an email today from CHC ND to appear for finger prints ??? and I need to be there soon ...can someone plz advice what does that mean and why do they ask it....am a little tensed .

As G said, it is only asked in cases where applicant has visited Canada.
Did you live in Canada before?

Hi there, so they basically want a PCC from Canada, or rather the one that RCMP provides. It shouldnt be a big deal really. And since you cannot fly to Canada, they requested you to come to the embassy to give your fingerprints.

I dont think it would affect your processing times. Maybe you stayed for more than 6 months & did not provide a PCC when you first sent in your application?

thats good you got a manual override on it but like i said it doesn't make a difference if you don't change it, as when you do your legal name change you will need to update your PR card and other docs anyways. unless you want xyz singh as your last name instead of just singh. I know couple people including my wife with the same thing, but we're not changing it. no point in tying up the resources for this as we will do it when we do her legal name change. buddy of mine his wife's PR says Amy Amy Kaur and she already got a US visa and they were in NYC over xmas. no issues going in and out of the country. unless you want to keep your last name as xyz singh then get it changed otherwise hold off until you do your proper name change to have singh as your last name. everyone has their preferences but it won;t hurt you if you hold off on it.

@MD it said the samething for my wife, until last week. it says Complete and the address is updated to my address here in edmonton. so give it 4 weeks and it will be back on with the updated status

hey you got nothing to worry about. its possible during the background check they came across someone with the same name and lives in the same city/state (or unless you were in canada and there is someone with the same name) as you with not so "pleasant" history, so they called you in for finger prints to rule out that you are not that person. so you got nothing to worry about.

is it coz i did my PCC from regional passport office???? thats why they need finger prints now ??? also they asked me to appear at the visa gate and call them to tell them my availability
