yea i guess that is rite but they shuld return those passports whch they have it for like 12 weeks..i dnt kno wht takin them soo long..
i think this procedure is better where they ask for pp when they r almost on the verge of making a decision...!!

Absolutely agree! What if your spouse and you decide to meet in the meantime in some other country! You are pretty much stuck! Moreover, your passport is your identity and they shouldn't just sit with it forever!

Well, you have all the right to complain Sim. But very soon, we have some amazing news coming and then this all shall seem so small to us. :-)

Can we inquire on email from ND embassy if they have received the package from Miss. Will emailing have any negative impact on the applicant and the case processing.

@adihanda: well i dnt thnk there is any harm in doing so..just try it once but dnt ask them again n again..i emailed them too when i wantd to confirm if they have got my passport or not..it wont have any impact gud or bad on ur application..!!

You will see the update on E-Cas. In the Permanent Applicant Status where it says "Not Available" right now, you shall see "In Process" and it shall say "We have started processing the application of XXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX (the sponsored person's name) from such and such date". So until then you shall have to wait. You do not have an immigration file number from the ND office to contact them yet.

It changed from Not Available to In Process in 20 days. So about 2-2.5 weeks. But I recently heard that apparently, ND Office has changed the procedure a bit. They have changed from requesting PPRs well in advance to working on the file and then requesting PPRs. But then again, everything is soo out there! I dont know anything. Faith and patience all!

Yeah I too hope so, but even if they ask PPR late, atleast the status shud be changed to In Process right ? :( If that itself isnt changed for 1 and half months, it means that our file is not even opened yet.

Yeah, sent them an email 10days ago. But no response yet, and hence decided to wait, instead of sending any more emails. :(

This is a real pain when you are even afraid to drop in an email now with the fear how they will take it.
