You seem to be the first person I have seen that has a fair time line from Canada Visa Office,Accra, Ghana. Please could your share experience with me?

What u need to know

Am a newcomer to Canada with non-accompanying spouse. My circumstances have now changed and I need to have my spouse with me in Canada. Can I submit a spouse sponsorship application even though I have only spent 2months in Canada?

Theoretically, you're eligible to sponsor your spouse from the day you became a PR (if the wedding took place after your application for PR was approved). Practically, no! Some of the required documents for spousal sponsorship include break down of your filed tax income from the previous year (in order words, you must have lived and filed tax income for at least a year in Canada before you apply). Although, you may submit other documents in the place of your tax report, even these alternative documents may be difficult to get if you've only spent 2 months in Canada. Has your PR card even arrived yet? I think you should consider the required supporting documents to see if you'll be able to provide them at this point

Thank you. I haven't started making an income in Canada, but will I be able to file taxes in a way that can meet the requirement? I will look through the other supporting documents and see how quickly I can meet them

Hello all, please I want to ask a question my AOR is December 20th 2017. On November 15th 2018, we were asked to submit an additional documents (proof of intend to return to Canada), we also got pre arrival services same day.. My hubby is a Canadian citizens and is here in Nigeria with me while the process is going on. We submitted the documents on November 19th and since then, nothing. Please how long does it take to get PPR after ADR has been requested? Tomorrow will make it one month we submitted and 20th will make it one year of application. Please What do we do.

I’m a little confused - ADR is part of the appeal process after your application has been refused. AOR is “acknowledgement of receipt”, which should happen early in the application process. Not sure what they’re doing over there in Accra. We are waiting for a passport back...

ADR means Additional Document Request. It's not for applications refused. As a matter of fact, any sort of documents can be requested at any point of the application process. ADRs are usually issued when the agent in charge requires further clarifications about an aspect of the application. I think you're confusing ADR with Fairness Letter. Fairness Letter is the letter stating why an application is refused. At the point of Fairness Letter, no additional documents will be requested .
