@Wapsis, I think you and me are the early 2017 applicants here so let see if we will be process in 12 months as they say for 2017 applicant.
@Wapsis and @bbccanada since you are early 2017, if you haven’t done so already, now is the time to email the minister, your MP and anyone else who will listen with your timelines and tell them that at the rate they are going you don’t think they will meet their 12 month promise. I am told that even though you may not get a response from the minister’s office, by law they are obligated to act on your email and make an inquiry. Also your MP, with your permission, can start calling every month to follow up on the progress.

Planning to make some contact for follow up upon return to Canada. Do you think it beneficial to also send some additional proofs like boarding passes, more photos etc?

You applied in February, so yes, it seems helpful to send additional relevant proof just to try to avoid any further delays when its decision time on your file.

Ours is same

Its correctly displayed LOL.... I wonder myself too when will the BGC begin??? its been 8 months and over for you and still no other correspondence??

@cutie, this topic is gaining momentum pls share more timeline. My friend had US visa so he applied for Canadian visitors visa online and less than 3 weeks they give him 9 months visa but why are they taking forever to approve our spouses I don't understand. I am writing the minister of immigration and call my MP on Monday.

Mine was also received in February 14th, the only difference on my timeline is the review of additional documents which says "we do not need additional documents".
@kWAMTIN,so you see everything is pretty much the same for everyone except the additional document section so basically this is a standard thing they have in their database.

Ours is same

@nwaefulu, you see yours too is the same story. I think we should be sharing that information weekly so we can see what is being done at the AVO.

I am January applicant and I haven't even received medical request. I request help from my MP and she said the MPs can't anymore directly contact the VO. Actually all they can do is to get the last update on your file and mine said my file is in queue to be reviewed. She said she can't do anything to speed up if I don't pass the 12months. I said to her at this speed I am pretty sure they won't finish at time. She said don't worry sometimes it fast at end. So I am just waiting...

The funny thing is the government knows what they are doing
Accra office is being bias towards Africans in general because I do not know what the hold up is.. even with the minister's trip to Accra still there has been no improvement. I see other forums all receiving PPR and are 2017 applicants so what do we Africans need to do to get some attention here honestly write to the Ministers office I will do the same and we go from there.
Express entry is 6 months you get PPR and family sponsorship more then 18 months
this is tearing up families not reunification.

Hi, there are other early 2017 applicants on this forum, although maybe we're less vocal. There are at least 5 of us who were late Dec or Jan applicants: @Limanye , @Holymoses , @Chingy , Wunmiakoda, and me, @HisAma (we talked about it in mid-Sept). My husband's application was received Jan 10, 2017. We used the old application package, as it was acceptable up until Jan 31, 2017. MyCIC status is the same as yours and the last time I heard from them was in mid-February when they sent the application to AVO. Still waiting to be contacted, like the rest of us.

@bbccanada , did you apply with the old package or the new?

is there a spreadsheet with timeline for accra applicants 2016/2017?? if not can we create one

it doesn't hurt to do periodically send additional info.
