@me2605 That's the standard statuses we all have on our system after the changed it a several months ago. The only exception is that those of us who have passed medical actually have "you have passed medical" or something to that effect. I think background check says something like we haven't started or something like that.

364 days today. :( My heart is slowly and painfully breaking. I miss my husband.

Hang in there @becos. Take comfort in knowing that this office is just slow and it's not specific to your case as we are all waiting too. I did pay a visit to my MP's office today. They are going to call Accra in the morning and let me know around 10am.

We applied for TRV before we were married. Denied twice. Then our lawyer said don't even bother after you get married because they will assume you won't leave and will deny you.

I'm sure it all depends on your case. If it can work for you, that's great. It's the best way to go if you can be with your spouse.

We also had the same situation so we didn't bother trying after we got married. But I will certainly suggest it to others who haven't been denied the visa yet. I know that's how my Brazillian friend did hers. In her case they even married in Canada. That's where the discrimination comes in 'cos even though they were just dating he was granted a visa, but in our cases they are stingy with it.

Thanks friend. :) The only comfort is that I'm not alone in this frustrating wait. Please let us know what happens with your MPs call. I was just wondering today if I should take up my MP on their offer to look in to things.... this whole waiting for 365 days as of tomorrow thing is weighing on me. This feeling of helplessness is a challenge.

My dear just hang in there, you are at the end of the road already. Try and keep your mind out of it. I know it is near impossible but it's out of our hands.

My last call home, my 3 yrs old daughter asked me to come back home, she is tired of hearing that her dad is in an aeroplane.

Those of you with children, I am in awe and admiration of your strength and perseverance. I pray you are reunited with your families very soon. You are strong beyond imagination.

Guys,I have a question.
1.Can AVO refuse an applicant his or her visa after PPR and Medical request?
2.Is it possible for AVO to send pick up mail without the visa?
Has this happen before?

I'm waiting for your thoughts.....My head aches because, my passport has been kept since 5th May.

I have gone through the family class forum and discovered there is no thread for Accra applicants.

I am one, my hubby sent in our application in january and still waiting for sponsorship approval

Hubby resides in Canada. Also hoping to hear from people who have applied through Accra in the past

Hoping to hear good news soon!!!! ;) ;)
