A few months ago, we had the case of Aroms. Her passport was held by AVO for over six months without any explanation. Each time she mailed AVO, the response was always "we are still working on your file"

My dear with AVO, you can't predict anything.

PS: Count me in for the call next week.

That's crazy. Who knows what's in store for each of us... it's frightening. Glad you're in for the call too. :)

they can hold your passport for up to 90 days. however I don't think they wud give the visa if you still have that outstanding documentation from Quebec. we're u able to renew it? once it's approved am sure they won't hesitate to release it to you. this is also assuming u wud pass the background check too. ::)
we provided the documentation on Wednesday renewed csq

wow.i like the positive action going on here.am definitely calling too

Remember when we do call, that the person, the receptionist, isn't the one responsible for AVO so we should be stern in our complaints but kind and respectful in order to get across a constructive and meaningful message through to the minister. :)

I think we should put together about 5 different points that can cover all the problems we are facing so that our complaints can be communicated effectively. I imagine the secretary would take notes to pass on to the immigration minister. So we can communicate 5 points in different words.

Accra, there's hope. My husband got his PPR today :-).... Has anyone made the calls yet?

I called this morning and all the agent were very busy then I tried few minutes later and I was told due to high volume of calls any voice to be sent to minister@cic.gc.ca

I just called ..A Nice Lady picked up and after making reference to Ghana AVO, she said that I need to make my complainants to "minister@cic.gc.ca"..

That's all....

I think we should all make a petition

Thank you Ugoswife, yes we applied in November. I didn't think it would have been this fast considering Dakar as a 16 month processing time.

I tried calling as well., I too got due to high volume message...
I'll keep trying during the day.

congratulations, now that's the kind of speed am talking about.... congrats

I have called the ministers office twice this morning just to have them see the gravity of the situation. And they keep telling me to send email, which I have done and will continue to send 10 times everyday. I am going to see my MP later today again. I hope your guys are still calling and sending emails, cause we have to be heard. Their is strength in numbers, it's the only way this will work. Keep calling and sending mails..... And if anyone knows how we can go about a petition, that would be great too.
