Hello members, AVO is also a very lazy office regardless of how they are funded. I applied for a proof of Canadian citizenship for my daughter and they told my wife to change my mailing address in Canada to the Accra office address so as soon as they receive they will call my wife to come pick it up instead of me receiving it in Canada and mail it to her in Ghana. Immigration Canada received the application in Canada 15 November 2016 and mailed the certificate to Accra since December 12 2016 for pick but I can not believe almost 3 months the Accra office did not call us to come pick up the certificate. If I had not call cic in Canada to check the status of the application yesterday I wouldn't have known it was sent to Accra since December 12 2016. Did it take 3 months to make a call? I don't really know why they just keep the certificate thinking that is their property?

Wow.

Yes, Accra office does a really bad job comparing to other offices and charge same fees for that job as others.
We are waiting for an assessment on our application which was due last month and still nothing. Probably it will take them another month or two to get back to us in that regard. And they keep our original docs too, though my husband needs them for work. I guess that's because it is Africa. In Canada people from immigration offices are more professional.

Yes you are absolutely right. The lady I spoke with at cic Canada was very professional and very respectful. She told me to contact Accra office to obtain the certificate and I sent them email last night asking them I need the certificate. If they don't reply then I have to send my wife their to get the certificate. I could have send my wife their but I don't want her to travel from Kumasi to Accra for not letting them know she is coming to get it. Can some one advice me if my wife can go there without letting them know and still pick it up the same day? Honestly, this Accra office is pushing my patient to the limit.

I hope you get your passport back soon because this Accra office seems not to care much whenever they have people's important documents. They already lost my original marriage certificate and now holding my daughter's proof of Citizenship for 3 months now and only God knows if they have it or lost it too I don't know. They forget that you can have emergency and you need your passport to travel. Honestly, it is very sad the way we are being treated at this office but we shouldn't put the blame on the white people working there it is rather our own African people that we think suppose to make our lives easier causing us the pain.

Thanks for congratulating me,
My dear I'm not emotional ,I'm man who is courageous and strong,
I stand here to say this because i know that no one have time to consider this ,
Every one us are busy while our forum is dying
Some are blaming AVO not knowing that AVO is working but people are hidden there work,
I'm a living witness ,I step into there commissioned House and say on my mind weldone AVO,
An hour before my interview time, I know how many people who work in to that house and comes out,
But instead of upbuiding this forum,it's tearing down...
Before I start saying this about two friends from this forum have complain to me so much.

Can you elaborate on your own words when you say "Some are blaming AVO not knowing that AVO is working but people are hidden there work,
I'm a living witness ,I step into there commissioned House and say on my mind weldone AVO".
Perhaps you can enlighten us on what the good work AVO is doing on people behalf. WIth your own eyes what did you see which will confirm your above noted statement. That is a profound statement you made and I just want to try to understand the meaning behind your words. Is it because you received your interview request after 10 months and interview appointment within 7 days and ppr request in 3 days is the reason why you said they doing a good job? So you would agree that the panic and scrambling that AVO allowed you to go though they were doing a good job? Awaiting your reply. Thank you Sir.
