Merry Christmas everyone! Wishing you all a lovely holiday season and a happy new year! I'm off to Ghana and won't be writing much for the next month. Good luck to everyone! Hoping when I do pop back in the house once and a while it's full of good news! Take care!

Hi everyone,

I live in the united states on a student visa. My wife and I recently applied for her to sponsor me. She is Canadian and I am Ghanaian. Application was received November 17th 2016 and SA approval December 6th 2016. The application has been sent to the Accra Consulate and it says application processing started on December 15th 2016.

Does anyone on this forum live out of Ghana and doing my kind of application. If so what has your experience been and how long did the application take if it is already completed. When we did the application, we had no idea it will sent to Accra, we thought it will be processed in Mississauga.

NP.. My wife and I have two kids together. Age 4 and 5months

Thank you all for your help in advance and Happy holidays. cheers

Welcome on board, everyone here is on the same boat where patience is the watchword.

Mississauga handles the first stage of the application after which it's sent out to ur country of origin or country in charge of your country like the case of Nigerians for eg that is grouped under Ghana for further processing. They handle the remaining part in most case, some cases they might ask u to submit PPR in ur country of residence or as the case maybe.

And yes u are not alone. I currently live in US. Applied Nov 2nd, SA and file transfered on 24th Nov and current status shows started processing on 8th Dec 2016, Medical received. So ur application is right after mine. All things being equal am expecting to hear from AVO anytime from May/June even though I pray they suprise me.

All the best and stay positive. Happy holidays to u too

You guys are already on moving train,SA being accepted on same months of applying..
My SA and one other forumer takes 5 months before its approved.. And we are still here waiting..
So my guy cheer up you are not alone we are many..

Thank you so much for your response. Hopefully we all get some kind of response sooner rather than later. i read that they are trying to process all applications within 12months. Fingers crossed. All the best. Cheers

Quick question to you, did you get AOR2 from the Accra consulate yet?
