Dear Ghana Applicants,

I currently live in Canada and planning to sponsor my spouse who lives in Nigeria and we just got married. I am reading some of the requirements and wondering if i can get some clarification. My husband and i dont have any children or dependents and i am planning to spponsor him alone.

The family information form and Police clearance instructions ask that we submit police clearance for each member of our family over 18. Does this mean my husband has to send police reports for all his siblings as well?

Please help clarify. Thanks

Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) - You and each of your family members 18 years of age or older must complete their own copy of this form.

POLICE CERTIFICATES AND CLEARANCES
Police certificates or clearances from each country in which you and every one in your family aged 18 years or over have lived six months or more since reaching 18 years of age. You must attach the original police document(s).

Since your husband has no children, he has to submit police reports only for himself.
On the Additional Family Information form, only he has to fill it out, but he must list all of his siblings.

According to the applican't guide(did you read it?), for the PCC and many other documents,''family members'' means: hubby, wife, children. You're the sponsor so no need for yours. So if your wife has no child yet, she might only submit her original PCC from each country she've lived in six months or more, since her 18th bday.

On the 5406 she has to list all her other family membres(mother father, y ou, brothers, sisters etc). But as for the PCC, only hers is needed if she has no child yet.

It's the 9th month for December applicants. Annoying indeed.

No I havent. i was thinking about it. will wait for couple of weeks and see what happens. i believe i sent everything they requested for with the application so i am panicking. right now all i need is patience lol. hopefully we hear something soon.

We are about 2 weeks apart. You should hear something shortly. No news is goodnews. Do not panick, you will be just fine.

Urgent Help PLEASE, I'm feeling overly tensed right now,
I and my sister applied june 22, for a student permit, i've my ielts with 7.5 and my sis with 7.0, my mum had the
min 10k each for us, we have an uncle there, she
submitted the usual and say all documents. We were
called for medicals 10th or so of August, we did it on
the Friday 14th, of which the hospital said they
would send it the next monday. Till now, 2nd I've
not heard anything from the embassy, our agent
forwarded the reminder letter from the school to
the embassy cause our programme starts Sept 9.
I'm starting exams over here in Naija, which obv I
don't want to write. But the tension is getting to me,
what could go wrong? Could it be cus of I and my
sister applied together? Could it be an issue with the
medicals? Or could there be normal random issues.
Please help a brother. This really isn't the best of
feelings. Thank you.
