It would be nice if we share our experiences and give each other support..

Maybe silence means that there is no one applying from Accra ? and there is no Back log?

Hi everyone. My husband has just been sent the letter from the Canadian High Comission in Accra Ghana saying it appears his immigrant visa is ready to be issued and we must send his passport within 15 days. Great news! However we are unable to find a courier in Ohio which allows us to send his passport along with a PREPAID return envelope. In the letter they said they recommend DHL but DHL in Ohio does not allow prepaid return envelopes neither does UPS. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Dear,
What you need to do is to send it to them with DHL service. When they are done, they will inform you and that is when you will go back to DHL and arrange for pick up. So send it right away, DHL will take care of you when they are ready for pick up. I hope that this helps you out.

Thank you kindly for your reply. I just have a few questions if you don't mind.

1) Have you done this? Were you successful in sending and receiving your passport via DHL?
2) Do we send a blank DHL envelope with my husband's passport and documents to the Canadian Embassy in Accra? Or is the provided when DHL picks his passport up in Accra?
3) When we receive an email for pick-up from the embassy, do I pay for it at the DHL office in USA. I'm just curious because they won't know the size and weight so how are we able to pay upfront?

I find it very odd that the Canadian Embassy would specifically state that we must enclose a prepaid courrier return envelope, though there are no courriers who allow this to happen. Hence my doubt in this process

It is very straight forward, my wife collected her passport a month ago. All you need to do is to print your last correspondent with Canada embassy and include yor passport inside it before sending. Once they inform you that your document is ready to pick up, DHL will transmit the info after your payment. Please relax as you have nothing to worry about, just go to DHL office and send it, no return envolope needed.

Hi Tryingourbest, congratulations d wait is over am happy for u, can u pls share ur time frame, from when u submitted ur application to cic. My application was submitted July 2, and SA August 27, till den I hav not heard anytin from Ghana, and online still shows medicals received. I have been reading dis forum and everybody in this forum hav really been helping out during dis wait period. May God bless u all.

My status doesn't even show medicals received eventhough it was sent it with the application. Is that normal?

It seems like every case is different and it depends on the officer ?

Moh1979 I think if u hav gotten ur SA, u don't hav to worry, Ur application is been process.

We just contacted DHL and the only way we can schedule a pick up is if we have a DHL account. HOWEVER the only way we can make an account is if we own a business. We do not own a business so we can't make an account. Can somebody PLEASE help!!!

This is getting ridiculous.

Sent our application June 16th. Received letter to send in passport and other documents 4 days ago.

Just mail the stuff and your passport ASAP.

Once they're done then you can think of how you will get it back. Your husband may have to fly to accra to get it.

The most important thing now is to send your passport
